It’s been a long wait, but Lori Anderson’s Bead Soup Party is happening right here, right now! Lori had a brilliant idea to create an online party, and more than 80 jewelry designers joined in. We were all paired off, traded beads, and set off to create . Today you can join the party too by stopping by and seeing all of the jewelry designs that were kept under wraps. First I have to give Lori a great big shout out: You are amazing! Thank you, Lori, for bringing us all together…you have been the best host! Let’s plan a Party Participant reunion, round II! 🙂
I’ll admit, I was one lucky lady to be paired with Lyn Foley. Lyn is a lampwork bead artist as well as an amazing jewelry designer – wait til you see here beautiful designs here. When I first visited Lyn’s site {insert -thank you Lori for introducing us to such wonderful people!} and saw her sheer talent with glass, my mind started racing with possibilities. I have always had a love for wire with lampwork. Then I’ll admit, a little worry crept in… what could I ever create to do justice to her beads?? Lyn sent me some of her “tribal shield” beads – a bead design that was inspired by her trip to Africa with her husband. I started with a few design ideas in my head….but somehow the necklace took shape with a life of its own. My creation includes many feet of sterling silver wire, hand-cut jump rings, and onyx beads wrapped in a chunky herringbone weave – this does sound like a recipe, after all it’s Bead Soup!
Lyn’s husband is a talented silversmith – he created this beautiful sterling silver leaf clasp

The Cindy Wimmer – Lynn Foley design!

This was fun….and the party is just getting started! Please stop by the many participants and see what they’ve been up to!
