Summer fun at the beach!

I am away at Ocean City for the week. We arrived yesterday, and even though it was close to dinner time, we went straight to the little beach on the Bay. The kids had fun trying to catch crabs in their nets and we relished the fact that we were the only ones on the beach! Now today was a different story because we hit the real beach on the oceanside and was it ever packed! By the shore it was so breezy that I admit that I was cold! Later we tried a new place for dinner and went to a real crabhouse called Hoopers. Apparently it burned down completely in 2002 but is back to it’s full glory and packed with vacationers and locals. Afterwards we did the inevitable and went to the Boardwalk! If you ever come to Ocean City, be sure to try Fisher’s popcorn. This buttery caramel corn is freshly made, sticky and delicious. It’s been around since 1937 and has been our family tradition for as long as I can remember.

Tomorrow we’ll spend more time at the beach, then possibly drive down to Rehobeth, DE to stroll around the shops for the evening. What a nice break from our normal routine. July 1st is already here, and I’m trying to enjoy every single day of this summer because I’ve waited for it for so long! Can you tell it’s my favorite time of the year? 🙂
