Carpe Diem!
I tell you these copper spirals were fun to make…and with nice, thick 14 gauge copper wire. If these look familiar, the design is from Sharilyn Miller’s new book, Contemporary Copper Jewelry. This was my favorite piece out of the whole book. I love how the links flow seamlessly to the next. I wanted to make my own mark when recreating this piece, so I changed the clasp so that it could hook on to a stamped washer rather than another spiral link. I oxidized the copper and placed it in the tumbler for a reeeaaaalllly long time. Now it feels so smooth.
These earrings feature some pretty etched lampwork beads. The earwires are unmistakably Deryn Mentock’s style…straight from her wonderful tutorial here on the Objects and Elements blog.

Simple, faceted earrings with ornate bead caps and spiraled wire caps.

Thank you for stopping by!

Lovely creations Cindy, this bracelet is gorgeous, the patina you got with the tumbler is “magnifique”. Love the earrings too, especially the black one with silver wire, so sober and elegant.

Have a beautiful day.

What an amazing job you did with the links flowing so seamlessly into each other!! It must have the most lushish smooth feeling to the metal, because you can see the satin finish in the pictures!!!

Just beautiful as usual! I have been wanting to get that book too. It is on my list!
Thank you so much for the sweet comments…they sure make my day! 🙂
I tell you…each piece you create is better than the last! I love Sharilyn’s new book. Can’t. Put. It. Down. I want to run out and do it all, but then I still have bees to do battle with! And I don’t have any washers…and I lack a tumbler…and some fat wire….But I will get there! Great eye candy… and I have to love something that tells me to seize the day!
Enjoy the day!
