Last post for 2009!

by Cindy on December 31, 2009

The last day of 2009 is here!!!  How can that be?  Do you feel as if the year flew by too fast??  It was a good one and I am content.  You all – my blogging friends old and new – have been a huge part of 2009 for me!  I met many of you for the first time this year and I’m looking forward to meeting many new friends in 2010 (can you believe, a new decade?)  Which brings me to this word….

DISCOVER

A little while back my friend (one met in 2009!) Erin announced her Word of the Year for 2010 on her blog and encouraged us to do the same.  I like that concept:  picking a word to serve as a sort of guiding light for the year.  I’ve seen others do this on their blogs.  Erin emailed me the other day and asked if I had picked mine yet….so here it is!  I hope to DISCOVER more wonderful artists (and their blogs!), DISCOVER new jewelry techniques and learn new skills, and DISCOVER where this path will take me in 2010.  Please share your Word of the Year if you have chosen one too!

I received a package this week from a pair of talented jewelry designers in Austrailia, Sissy Sparrows (they just started their blog in 2009).  I coudn’t resist this beautiful soldered “shadow box” when they listed it in their new Etsy shop.  Just look at the sweet earrings that they sent along as a surprise.  I just love their work…right down to the packaging made from tea-stained muslin.

Just found out about a Bead Soup Party set for 2010!  My friend Lori is hosting a virtual party so stop by if you’d like to learn more….what a great way to kick off the new year!

Thanks, dear sweet Miss Cindy, for the shout out. I am so pleased to have inspired you, and you in turn, will inspire many! That is my word: INSPIRE!
One of my blessings this year was in “meeting” so many amazingly talented wonderful new blog friends. You are someone I would count twice in my blessings. And I DO hope to meet you in person. I feel there is a connection there. I, too, am participating in the Bead Soup. What fun! And those Sissy Sparrows sisters are so talented. What a find!
Enjoy the {last} day! On to a new decade!

Hey Cindy, I have been thinking about my word for the new year…I will definitely follow-up with Erin when I do, which should be today. I can’t believe it’s the last day of the year.
I just signed up for Lori’s Bead Soup Party, what an excellent idea and how much fun this will be.
Happy New Year.

Your definitely not alone when you say the year flew by! Seriously, it feels like it was just yesterday we were ringing in 09….It just boggles my mind that it went by so damn fast!

I really love your word for the year because it covers so many bases! I, too, hope to discover many new things in 2010 🙂
