August, already?

Hello!

Would you agree that  August just came out of no where?  It seems like yesterday that I was over joyed with the first signs of spring… and somehow we are well into summer.  It is still summer, and I am going to enjoy every single day of it if I can!  This past week I was so happy to have my sister in law and my cute-as-a-button nephew here with us.  We celebrated the little guy’s first birthday with the family tradition: Baskin Robbin’s ice-cream cake!  We packed in all kinds of activities this week with the kids: seeing Rocknoceros (a super cool kid’s band), a trip to the Reston Zoo (can you imagine going on a Safari ride and seeing zebra, monkeys and camel in the suburbs?), a trip to a 2-acre playground called Clemyjontri, and a picnic in the shade in Historic Occoquan.  And it’s just Thursday! 

In the midst of all the activity, I did set aside some time to work on a new jewelry-related project.  Although I did not post any new jewelry  this week, I have been working on a new “creation” of sorts!  I’ve been writing my first tutorial.   I will update you on this project in the near future!

By the way, how do you like my new banner by Arianne of  Aeolidia?   She created a few banners for me with the completion of this website.  At first I thought these animated varieties were a bit too, well, flashy.  But they have grown on me and I just had to have one for my shop too!  She did a fabulous job.  I’ll check in with you next week.    Have a great upcoming weekend!
