Come see…..pictures posted!

by Cindy on March 8, 2010

Hello Everyone!

I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer!    Many of you have been so kind to ask for pictures from this weekend’s Painting with Fire workshop with Barbara Lewis.  Let me tell you, Saturday ranked up there with one of the best days I’ve had in recent memory!

Just picture the  dream day:  learning a brand new technique you’ve been dying to try, meeting amazing people you’ve known through their blogs (and brand-new non-blogging friends too), good food, wonderful weather, and most importantly…..the perfect instructor!  That is what I experienced on Saturday.  Jeanette and I feel like our first event was a huge success, and really we owe that to one first-rate lady, Barbara Lewis.  Now I have to tell you, Barbara came as part of a dynamic duo….her husband Jim helped run the show behind the scenes, and his knowledge of enameling was amazing as well – what a wonderful man!  *sigh*  Can you tell I had a great day??

It was really incredible to meet some people I’ve known from their blogs…and to meet them for “real” was just awesome.  It really made my “online” world a reality…and I think many of you can understand what I mean.

Now what are we waiting for?!  On to the pictures!  And would you believe….I was the only one with a camera!  Let’s step back in time, and you’ll feel like you were there too!

And now you’re wondering, where’s the beads???  Well, I’m proud of my first enameled beads, but if you really want to see some beads that rocked, check out these and these! 🙂

Thanks again to Barbara, and to everyone who traveled (as far away as Pittsburgh!) to come to the class – let’s do it again!  I did hear Barbara mention an advanced enameling class……

I can’t believe you spent a whole day with fellow bloggers and yet you were the only one with a camera. it must have been a wonderfully interesting day to meet so many of your fellow bloggers for the first time under one roof, and to spend it creating, doing something that is all so much of your lives, what a great day!

Happy to see this workshop with Barbara was a great moment. It seems in fact, looking at all these faces with smiles on them.

Barbara Lewis March 8, 2010 at 10:20 am

Cindy, Boy, I really look like I’m “staring down that bead” and you were supposed to say that the camera makes you look 40 lbs. heavier … not just the standard 20! And, btw, I did have a camera, but I was toooo busy having fun! Thanks for documenting this for us. If you check out paintingwithfire.ning.com you’ll see some of Christine’s work and she’s already made jewelry with it! Amazing group of people there on Saturday. Thanks to you and Jeanette for being the consummate workshop organizers!

That looks like so much fun! I am a bit leary of the fire part, but if you can do it…why can’t I? I sure hope that this class pops up someplace I could actually travel to… I would have loved to be there and meet such wonderful blogging pals! Thanks for sharing, Cindy. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Enjoy the day! Erin

That class looks and sounds like it was so much fun. How did you get all those torches together? Did Barbara furnish them. Are they surface mix like for lampworking. Oh,, I want this class. I’m way too far away!!

Loved the pictures to put with some of the internet names I now know.

Thank you
