My life is a zoo!

by Cindy on May 5, 2010

Hello!

I know I have been absent here, and for good cause.   I don’t know where the time has been flying to these days, but it seems each day has been busier than the last!  Our cup has been spilling over this spring season.  When I was uploading pictures today, it was quite clear where my time has been going (and why I haven’t shown any new jewelry in ages!).

Come if you will, and step in to my shoes (my son sure did).  I’ll take you on a quick tour of what I’ve been up to lately!

Hmmm…..let’s see.  I run a taxi cab service, except the cab is my van.   I remember when  my older sons were toddlers, there was this mom of 3 boys who described how she drove the kids around nonstop and just barely made it to the McDonald’s drive-through in between places.  Now I can understand what she was talking about!  Between the boys, we have Boy Scouts – had a wonderful field trip to Great Falls Park over the weekend- swimming, tennis, chess club and lacrosse.

In between it all there is HOMEWORK.  Lots and lots of homework.

But it’s a full life.  I  know I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I am still mindful to “stop and smell the roses”, as I discussed in a recent post.  In fact, my oldest son and I stopped and picked the clovers just the other day.   Would you believe we found 18 four leaf clovers!  We also found 3 five leaf clovers (who ever head of that…and what does that mean?) I got the message loud and clear:  I may be  kinda crazy and busy, but I’m also very lucky!

My blog title states that life my life is a zoo…. and today I really got to go to one.  I was a chaperone on a field trip with my Kindergartener and we enjoyed the sun, some amazing animals, and lots of laughs.  It’s amazing what a Kindergartener will laugh about – oh if we could only be that carefree!  Take a look at some of the animals we saw today…they seem to have the carefee part down.

Well, you have been busy! Wow – so many four leaf clover – do you know I have never ever found one? I used to think they were a myth. I guess it means you are extremely lucky. Wishing you a wonderful day!

beautiful pictures!!! Your little soon looks so funny with your shoes and “his” homeworks”!!

i am so there with you – i barely felt like i got out of the car yesterday myself… everything is temporary with children (including them being small) – my daughter graduates high school this year and it brings emotions of joy and sadness… but lots of joy… that is incredible about the clover! it always took me hours to find one – which is why i don’t have any now!! :0) enjoy yourself – but it’s ok if mom needs a little time… if there is an eager mother’s helper in the neighborhood you could grab and hour or two for yourself, be accessible to your boys, but have someone else to fill the sippy cups with juice and let them play in the yard!

Beautiful pictures and a wonderful story! I hear you on the busy-ness…had the craziest couple of weeks just recently and I am relishing the slowing down now. My little boy likes to stomp around in my shoes, too, along with his sister. So funny!
It’s really a blessing to have such a full and wonderful life, isn’t it? (even as you wish for time to catch your breath!)

I love seeing your photos and hearing the stories of your family life. It brings back memories of my own children as young ones. Thank you!

As see I see these beautiful photos Cindy, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t want it any other way either! They tell an incredible story of love! As M.J. says, this will not last forever! Don’t feel bad about blogging, we share our life here, our jewelry is secondary. You have a blessed life, thanks for sharing! Hugs!

Oh what a wonderful post. You are indeed lucky and so very wise to recognize it. The photo of brothers doing homework with pup supervising? Absolutely priceless. Made my heart yearn for those days when mine were little, yet appreciate how far we’ve come. Someday, you too will look back that way.Thank you!

Cindy, I’ve missed you but you HAVE been busy. The jewelry will always be there but the boys won’t always be little so continue to savour the present moment. There is a saying “the sacrament of the present moment”–the holiness of the here and now and store those memories away for the inevitable time when they won’t do more than glare and grunt! Maybe you’ll be spared! We have been watching a 14 month old for a good part of the past 3 weeks–he helped me loose 7 pounds! I need to borrow him periodically to keep it off and maybe a few more! Thanks for sharing the blessings of your life! How is the house coming? Love and prayers, Madeline

Enjoy this time with your sons, it is so special, and it goes by so quickly! Its a lovely age before they get to be teenagers! They adore you, love to do things with you, and bring such joy to your life. The teen years are a bit different ( more stressful..LOL). Have a good weekend!

Carolyn Mallin May 6, 2010 at 10:11 am

Enjoy it Cindy. Your children are such treasures. I should be showing more jewelry too but I always get side tracked by my grandkids. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Leslie May 6, 2010 at 6:02 pm

Oh yes, the life of a mom. I hope you are well appreciated and get lots of hugs and kisses this Sunday!

maureen May 7, 2010 at 5:31 am

I think your son has great taste in shoes. The patent black pumps are a classic choice for blue jeans! I was JUST thinking this morning that I have not had the chance to read my favorite blogs (eg YOU!) in weeks, let alone write something in my on blog. Just when you’re blinking, life happens! Enjoyed your photos, thanks
Be well- and see you in September!!!

kella May 7, 2010 at 6:38 am

LOVE the picture with the heels! Takes a secure guy to wear them for sure!!! Looks like your doing a good job, which is hard work. Family should always come first, that’s how we play it here. I only have one.. all I could produce, she’s 16 now and all feisty girl..wouldn’t have her any other way. I love working from home so I can be here for both her and my husband. Makes doing something I love for a living (in theory, the “living” part as in $$$) so much more rewarding! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Christine Damm May 10, 2010 at 12:00 pm

I just know you’re going to keep that one of your son in the high heels to blackmail him later on! what a hoot! Happy Mother’s Day! You are the best mother I know– I hope you feel as loved and appreciated as you should be!
