Back from the Sunshine State!

You know you're in FL when you see these....
You know you’re in FL when you see these….

Hello!  I’m back after a week away…did anyone miss me? 🙂  We went on a long road trip down south to visit my brother and his family in Florida!   The week went by way too fast…… cousins playing (6 boys!), staying up late chatting with my sister-in-law, lots of time at the pool (it is HOT there), and local sight-seeing. We were sure spoiled by the wonderful hospitality we received and were so sad to finally leave!

You know me and how I tend to turn my blog into a photo album!  Thought I’d share a few pics here from our visit to the Sunshine State.

You know I’ve missed you tons! And I’ve been to Florida in August so I know how hot it is! I was there when Zack was nearly two and still not walking so all we could do, it seemed, was visit Barnes and Noble and hit the pool.

Aren’t you ready for cooler weather?

Clair August 23, 2010 at 5:34 pm

Me? Jealous? No. Not at all! ;0)

Welcome home Lit’l Mama!!

You need to use this week to recoup from your vacation with the cousins!! That’s a whole lotta boys all in one spot!!! 🙂

Yep Air Plants are really bromelias They grow in the branches of trees in humid rainy warm places. We have quite a few here, and ours look a lot like the one in your picture. These have a flower that is nothing to write home about and once they bloom they tend to dry up and die. The reason they have the nickname of air plants is because they have aerial roots and they get their moisture from the water (humidity/rain) in the air. They do have roots that tend to wrap themselves around thin branches to anchor them to the tree. They are cousins of those big “bromelia” with the huge rooster tail, bright pink flowers you can buy at Home Depot. 🙂

Have a great school year!!

Hi Cindy, welcome home! The boys are just precious! I’m sure they loved that neighborhood pool, almost like a giant playground! I’m sure you are going to be busy getting ready for back to school and the artbliss workshops now that you’re home. Missed you at beadfest, hope you get more time to “homestead” now, hugs, Laura

Gorgeous photos, as always! The one of the “cousins on the couch” is so very sweet! Glad you had a wonderful vacation 🙂

What gorgeous clouds and photos. So glad you had a great time with family this summer. Your boys must be back in school by now. Hoping you are finding time to create.

Welcome Home! 🙂

It looks like you had a wonderful time.

Jen August 30, 2010 at 6:58 am

I love how there are kids just everywhere! You can see their energy in those pics…must be such a wonderful time for them to see all their cousins.

Plus, I have to say I’m sooooo excited about antique shopping in Norfolk! I went down there Saturday night for dinner and we drove around the Ghent neighborhood for a while and there are tons and tons of shops just waiting for me!! Luckily I have a day off on Friday…looks like I’ll have time for an “oldies” mission!

Welcome back to Fall –

Jen
