Did everyone have a great Labor Day weekend? Just being far from home and our usual routines, it sure seemed like a mini summer vacation there all over. But alas, the three day weekend had to come to an end too. We had fun doing the usual activities at the beach: building a sandcastle (which looked more like a massive space craft), kayaking on the bay (my youngest finds this to be the perfect place for an afternoon nap), and eating our favorite fare (Philip’s crabcakes, Thrashers and Fisher’s popcorn one last time!). Speaking of eating…we visited General’s Kitchen, our new local’s favorite again yesterday. This little place is so popular that there is literally a line out the door to the side walk. New comers may be discouraged and leave when they see the long line. No, not us! We know that the wait goes so fast and we’ll be seated in less than 10 minutes. And the food there is sure worth the wait. The creamed chipped beef is almost as good as my Grandmother’s was…yes, chipped beef makes us happy! 🙂
With summer ending (long sigh), there are many new beginnings to be excited about….one being the launch of my friend Kerry’s new website! You have to check out the new Kab’s Creative Concepts website….very fresh and streamlined. There are so many beautiful pieces of jewelry to see, and the new website is a great showcase for it all.
For many of you, your little ones (and big ones too) will be returning to school tomorrow. In case you haven’t discovered it yet, The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn is a great going-back-to-school book. I gave this to one of my sons last year, and as it turns out, his teacher read it on the first day of Kindergarten last week. Such a sweet story. I wish you all the best with any and all of YOUR new beginnings this Fall!
