Today was one of those busy days from beginning to end.
February 12th…my little guy turned 4 months old today. It seems like yesterday that I mentioned he was already 3 months. I make a big deal out of these little milestones. I love to take pictures; I basically put on a mini photo shoot to mark the occasion! Here he is in the adorable crocheted sweater I showed a little while back (thanks again, Madeline!). I’m playing around with photo sizes and thought, why not show these in jumbo size. 🙂
After I picked up my son from preschool, we had a quick lunch, some Valentine’s craft painting, more photos, then off to my older sons’ school. My first grader had a “Market Day” at school in his social studies class. The children recently completed a unit on money (history, types, different cultures, etc) and they created four different shops. The children made bookmarks, tissue flowers, Valentine’s cards and magnets to sell. They created advertising such as posters and real commercials. I had to videotape that once it played on the tv for my husband to see. We were given “credit cards” that the children punched holes in to show we made a purchase. The smiles on their proud faces were so nice to see. Brings back memories of playing store when I was little.
This evening was busy getting ready for the class Valentine’s Day parties tomorrow. Luckily we had a head start and the kids filled out their cards/goodie bags for their classmates last night. It was time to make a few cards for teachers and decorate cupcakes. I’m sure many of you are going through this very same thing. I tried a new cake mix that is so YUMMY. Check out this triple chocolate cake mix…I kept beating the mix thinking there were still lumps in it…turns out they were chocolate chips. So my advice to you is eat these while they are warm. Those chips will be melted = scrumptious. Just a little friendly tip for those Moms (or Chocoholics) needing/wanting to make cupcakes in the near future (Nikki…?).
Whew…I’m tired, and it’s already after midnight. I better get to sleep. Have a GREAT Friday! This week sure went fast!
