A collection of clasps

by Cindy on February 11, 2012

This is my favorite transformation – shiny metal to the rustic look of oxidized metal.  Oh there is so much more character with the patina, wouldn’t you say?  I’ve been busy with wire projects this week and found that making these wire components really kept ideas flowing.  Here are four sets of handmade heavy-gauge wire clasps – going straight to my Etsy shop.

Thank you for stopping by – as always, I appreciate your visit!

Oh so beautiful! I love them all. I love the chunky flow of your wire, and I agree about the antiqued look – bags more character.

love these! They all look great, you have the best technique for wire clasps… my favorite is the 3rd one down on the 1st picture. awesome!

I too love your clasps and am eternally grateful for your tutorial last year!! And yes, copper patina, the best color transformation. I can’t get enough of it. Your clasps are just fabulous. Your wireworking is always so well done. Glad you liked the Wild Horses I found in Ottawa at the National Gallery!!

your wirework is really something – you truly are one of the best, cindy… even your patina process is impeccable… these are going to get snatched up fast… hope you are making more!

Cindy, they’re gorgeous! They are beautiful before the patina, but wow what a difference after the patina was applied! I can’t get over the pure perfection in each piece!

These are so well-made. I love the texture that you add to each of them. They have such great character. Congrats on a job well done!

Love these! Oxidized or not, they look great either way. I really like some of the unique swirls you added in, especially on the clasps at the bottom of sets #1 and #2 and the middle clasp in set #3.

Cindy, These are beautiful I liked them shinny, but I love them with the patina.

It’s amazing how you came up with so many different variations of a clasp. I’m partial to swan clasps because I made one and used it on a bracelet I made from your design that was on the cover of Easy Wire. (I bought that issue just for your bracelet!)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment on my Mad Hatter Garden Party post. It meant a lot to me to know that you stopped by.
