by Cindy on March 3, 2012

Welcome to the Sneak Peak portion of the

much-anticipated

5th Bead Soup Blog Party!

I was honored to play a special role in Lori Anderson’s Bead Soup book by Kalmbach, due out this Fall.  Let me tell you, as the “bead bowl” photographer, it was a thrill to see each of the bead soup mixes up close before they were sent off across the world.

It is my pleasure to share with you just a handful of the many beautiful bead soup mixes you’ll see inside the pages of Lori’s Bead Soup book.  There will certainly be something for everyone!

I love all the soups. I would most like to design a whimsical charm bracelet from Cassie Donlen’s soup, and would be most challenged by Lori Anderson’s cameo and pearl soup – obviously the ingredients suggest classic romantic, but I would be searching for a twist…

Linda Landig March 3, 2012 at 3:26 am

Your photographs are gorgeous, Cindy! And these beads soups…well, they just make me swoon. I can hardly wait for the book to come out!

Mary Harding March 3, 2012 at 4:45 am

Beautiful photos Cindy. So clear and color true to the beads. I think I would go for designing with Kerry’s and Christine’s–but they are all great. Thanks for stopping by my Reveal today and for the great comment.

Stefanie March 3, 2012 at 5:30 am

Oh Cindy, the pictures are beautiful. You are such a great artist. Drooling here over every single bowl:-)

Joanne March 3, 2012 at 8:23 am

They are all beautiful soups (and beautifully photographed too) and I would love to tinker with them all. The Bead Soup by Cassie Donlen would by my first pick though, a long and luscious larait comes to mind…. 🙂

Kerry March 3, 2012 at 8:27 am

Drop.Dead.Gorgeous. Oh my stars, Cindy these photos are incredible and the soups delectable. There are going to be some really beautiful pieces in Lori’s book. and everythibg will be set off so well with your fantastic images. Well done!

For someone who collects beads like others collect stamps or buttons or Mason jars, this book is calling to me. I can’t wait for it to hit the book stores!!!

Thanks for sharing this sneek peak!

Oh Cindy. Your photography is spot on. Each dish is so beautifully displayed.
I couldn’t begin to pick a favorite, they’re all so lush.
Lori’s book is definitely going to be a best seller – can’t wait.

Patti Vanderbloemen March 3, 2012 at 10:09 am

As usual, your photography is stellar! Lori hit the visual effects jackpot by having you take the pics! As a bead hoarder, I would want EVERY SINGLE BOWL! But I have to admit, Cassie’s and Kerry’s lampwork beads would look very good in my studio on my desk…where I could stare at their impeccable artistry all day long! beautiful job!

Kathy Lindemer March 3, 2012 at 10:27 am

I love them all but my favorite is Cassie Donlen’s. I love the colors and silk ribbon.

Lori Anderson March 3, 2012 at 10:44 am

Seeing them all laid out like this makes it seem even more real to me (I still can’t quite believe it). I’m so glad you took all these photos – they’re gorgeous!

Cynthia@OrnamentalStyle March 3, 2012 at 11:45 am

All such incredibly luscious soups. I’d want to work with them all. And your photography skills are great. And I absolutely love how they were all shot in different white bowls.

Elisabeth Auld March 3, 2012 at 11:50 am

Love Kerry’s soup and Lori’s soup with the cameo – so inspiring!

Cassie Donlen March 3, 2012 at 11:51 am

I’m sure Lori appreciates you playing this special part today.

As far as the bead soup that’s calling to me. . .well, there’s two. Barbara’s and Kerry’s are both tones that I really enjoy. If I HAD to pick one. . .Barbara’s I guess. They’re all so great though!! You’re such a tease, now you’ve got me anticipating the book even more.

I must say, that is THE coolest idea for a book! I really can’t wait until it comes out and I hope I can afford to get myself a copy to view all the awesome stashes and swaps 🙂

The photography is absolutely BEAUTIFUL by the way 🙂

I think my favorite is the bead soup by Barbara Louis-I immediately had designs flying through my head with that one!

Jo Tinley March 3, 2012 at 4:58 pm

Beautiful photographs Cindy! They are presented so well, and the bowls are really sweet too. There are some lovely beads there, but it was Kerry’s peacock bead that called to me most!

Wow, what a great peak, I’m so looking forward to the book.

All those different soups look awesome, the photos are brilliant.

My verry favorite is the one from Kerry Bogert, the peacock focal is amazing, I think the ingredients call for a necklace.

Menka Gupta March 4, 2012 at 8:15 pm

All the pictures are just so beautiful! great work Cindy.
My favorite will be Cassie Donlen’s soup. Love that heart focal and the different colors in the soup. Can’t wait for the book to come out.

Amy March 5, 2012 at 2:33 am

all those soups looked fantastic, but I esp loved Kerry Bogart’s!

Christine Damm March 5, 2012 at 11:03 am

Cindy, I constantly enjoy your blog posts and fabulous photos of your boys and the cool places that you visit but your studio shots are so clean, well-designed and engaging! Lori is lucky to have had you for these photos– every soup looks delicious and inviting! I adore Lyn Foley’s work, and Kerry’s soup too. Can’t wait to see what someone made with mine. Thanks for your contribution to the book and I hope I make it in!

Melissa M March 5, 2012 at 11:16 am

Cindy, you are so multi-talented..these photos are truly gorgeous! It was fun seeing what some of the other contributors sent in…I know from my perspective, that was the hardest part…figuring out what to send! Can’t wait to see it all in print.

DESPINA March 5, 2012 at 4:46 pm

Oh, all speak to me!!
If I had to pick JUST one, it’d be the amazing bead soup by by Christine Damm, I adore the combination of red and turquoise. It also leaves many possibilities open, for at least a gorgeous necklace and earrings!!
The Bead Soup by Cassie Donlen would be be right nest to my list (I see the necklace already made from the photo!!).
But then again, I’d be ecstatic to work with any of these.
Amazing photos.

Erin March 6, 2012 at 12:02 am

These bead soups are scrumptious! What a wonderful and unique aspect this book will have with these beautiful collections of beads. The soups alone would make a gorgeous book. Wow, I’m starting to get the idea of what a stunner of a book this will be. Congrats to you, Cindy for the special roll you played and hats off to Lori for creating the idea and make the book a reality!

Julie Anne March 6, 2012 at 8:39 pm

Cindy, you are amazing. Everything you create, from your home to your jewelry to your photography, is stunning. You are a constant inspiration and I am glad to be able to call you my friend. (PS – I mean it….you know how I feel about public praise.) 🙂

Lynda March 6, 2012 at 9:03 pm

Thanks for visiting my blog, Cindy, and posting a couple of comments. Your post here is like visiting an all-you-can-eat-buffet. So many delectable things to work with. I’m most drawn to Barbara Lewis’ bead mix, with the aqua and yellows. Love the enameled filigree balls. Congrats on the book and I know it will be a huge success. Thanks for the peek.

Erin Prais-Hintz March 14, 2012 at 1:09 am

Sorry I missed coming by here Miss Cindy! My life is on fast forward right about now and my blog hopping is suffering. It is so cool to see the various soups. I feel like I could have done a lot better with mine (although truth be told it was so long ago I have completely forgotten what it was that I sent!). I am swooning over Kerry Bogert, Christine Damm and Barbara Lewis, but truly all of them would really pique my interest if I got them. How much fun is it to be a part of this book? I am delighted to see my name in that list.

Enjoy the day!
Erin
