Stampington has done it again…this publisher has another incredible magazine out, this time a mixed media collection celebrating Marie Antoinette. Marie hit the new stands on April 1st. I did not preorder this one because, honestly, I initially thought it might not be quite my thing. Now I’ll admit I’m wrong. In one blog after another I’ve seen incredible projects that are featured in this issue and now I want my copy!
My preschooler started his Spring Break today so off to Barnes and Nobles we went…in the POURING down rain. I had to set up the stroller and all for the baby in that downpour. It was fun perusing the aisles with a cup of cocoa in hand (yes, I know it’s Spring but I can’t give it up yet). My little guy was anxious to get to the train table, but I asked him to wait and be patient. I had to find that issue of Marie! Would you believe B&N did not have it??? I was so disappointed. They said it might be on the truck that was due to come in today. Oh well, guess I’ll have to wait a bit longer.

If you want to jump right in and learn a little more about Marie Antoinette, then head on over to Joy’s party over at Cupid’s Charm. Joy has a beautiful bracelet featured in Marie…..she is the queen of soldered jewelry herself! You’ll find an online party at Cupid’s Charm full of incredible pictures and tons of tidbits about Marie that you never knew. I am just amazed at the facts that Joy has gathered and is sharing on her blog (so be sure to scroll down to April 1st)…wait til you read about the jewels that Marie owned, all translated for us to read. Stop by and be prepared for a visual treat….and try your luck, she’s having give-aways too! 🙂
Before I sign off, I just had to show off these gorgeous lampwork beads by Marilyn of Novelty Beads. Marilyn generously sent these sets up to me so I could pick a few for an upcoming project. I’m going to have a hard time sending any back!

Now the sun is out and shining. Hmm, fancy that. I guess lacrosse practice won’t be cancelled this afternoon after all.
Have a nice Friday!
-Cindy
Update: Joy suggested that I try Michael’s to find Marie and sure enough there were 3 copies left there! Now there’s only 2 because I brought one home. I’m enjoying the decadent projects and all of the sheer creative talent!

Hi Cindy! Thanks so much for the mention of my Marie Antoinette party on your blog! I appreciate the shout-out. My copy of Marie arrived late from Stampington and because I am a girl who has ants in her pants, I went out searching for it too. Barnes & Nobles told me the same thing…maybe on a truck next week. I tried Borders…they checked their books and said it was not even on a list as being a magazine available…off I went to JoAnns…they had every other Stampington but Marie. My last stop was at Michaels and they had a whole stack of them! So you might try there next time you make it out. ~ xo Joy
Hey Cindy….I know what you mean, as I go to Books A Million, and they are always behind on shipments. I really am disappointed when I get there, and the magazine isn’t there yet! I wouldn’t have mine if Stampington wouldn’t have sent it to me “free” for having a piece inside! That is definately a BONUS =)
Thanks so much for your comments.
Take care~diane
They never have the mags I want when I go to the store either! I am desperate for the new Marie and Somerset Life…hopefully they will stock them soon!
OH! I’ve got to put that on the list when I head out to the mall this week!!
