{"id":11449,"date":"2013-01-30T15:54:42","date_gmt":"2013-01-30T19:54:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=11449"},"modified":"2013-01-30T15:54:42","modified_gmt":"2013-01-30T19:54:42","slug":"designing-with-nina-designs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=11449","title":{"rendered":"Designing with Nina Designs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!<\/p>\n<p>Today I am really excited to share with you designs that I created with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/\">Nina Designs<\/a> components. \u00a0As part of their Blog Partner Design Program, I was sent a generous stash of components.<\/p>\n<p>I eagerly awaited the package from Nina Designs, not knowing what I would receive. \u00a0I was really pleased when the envelope came in the mail. \u00a0My package was full of natural bronze components as well as a couple of fiber bundles in leather and silk. \u00a0Nina Designs is a fair trade company that has been around since 1983, and do they ever have an incredible reputation. \u00a0I&#8217;ve been familiar with Nina components for quite some time and always admired the fine quality craftsmanship I see consistently. \u00a0 I think it is just incredible that all of their designs start with a sketch and are then fabricated by hand in both Indonesia and Thailand. I love all of the inspiration available on the Nina Designs website &#8211; from how-to videos to design ideas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=11462\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11462\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Nina Designs_Braided leather bracelet by Cindy Wimmer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Braided-leather-braceletby-Cindy-Wimmer_opt.jpg\" width=\"515\" height=\"663\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/deer_hide_leather_cord_sage\/ul731\/details\">leather cord<\/a> in sage was the perfect choice for creating a wrap bracelet. \u00a0I braided the 2 mm &#8211; wide cording in a length long enough to wrap around the wrist three times. \u00a0 I added a few dangles to the bracelet, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/small_natural_bronze_lotus_petal_charm\/vna559\/details\">Lotus Petal charm<\/a>, the stylized <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/bronze_leaf_charm\/vna815\/details\">Bronze Leaf charm<\/a>, and my own bronze bunny charm made by LeAnn Weih of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/SummersStudioEtc\/sold?ref=shopinfo_sales_leftnav\">Summers Studio<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0 A tumble-polished brass hook clasp gives the piece just the right hand-made touch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=11456\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11456\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Nina Designs_clasp detail by Cindy Wimmer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_clasp-detail_opt.jpg\" width=\"515\" height=\"623\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I pulled together several of the Nina Designs components for my elegant but simple grand finale piece. \u00a0 Here you see how I used the dainty leaf-patterned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/natural_bronze_toggle_clasp\/vnac1016\/details\">toggle clasp<\/a> &#8211; an easy way to finish off a jewelry design!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=11454\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11454\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11454\" alt=\"Nina Designs_Red + Gold necklace detail - by Cindy Wimmer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-detail-by-Cindy-Wimmer_opt.jpg\" width=\"515\" height=\"727\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-detail-by-Cindy-Wimmer_opt.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-detail-by-Cindy-Wimmer_opt-150x211.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-detail-by-Cindy-Wimmer_opt-212x300.jpg 212w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-detail-by-Cindy-Wimmer_opt-478x675.jpg 478w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I created a charm holder with coiled brass wire and then added a bunch of Nina Design components. \u00a0You&#8217;ll see I added a tiny <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/small_natural_bronze_lotus_petal_charm\/vna559\/details\">Lotus Petal<\/a> charm, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/natural_bronze_coral_branch_charm\/vna871\/details\">Natural Bronze Coral Branch<\/a> charm, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ninadesigns.com\/bali_bead_shop\/natural_bronze_infinity_link\/vns2695\/details\">Infinity Link<\/a>. \u00a0I dangled a little coral rondelle to tie in with the branch charm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=11452\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11452\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11452\" alt=\"Nina Designs_Red + Gold necklace with bamboo charm by Cindy Wimmer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-with-bamboo-charm_opt.jpg\" width=\"515\" height=\"904\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-with-bamboo-charm_opt.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-with-bamboo-charm_opt-150x263.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Nina-Designs_Red-+-Gold-necklace-with-bamboo-charm_opt-384x675.jpg 384w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What fun!
