We’re back from the weekend get away!\u00a0<\/div>\n

It’s been a memorable and jam-packed few days.\u00a0 We started off\u00a0with our 4 year-old’s graduation from preschool.\u00a0 He was so proud of himself and seems eager to face Kindergarten in the fall.\u00a0 We then drove down to Colonial Williamsburg<\/a>, a favorite place I know I’ve mentioned here on this blog a while back.\u00a0 When my husband was in the\u00a0 Navy and stationed in the Tidewater area, we would come just for the day to stroll and enjoy a picnic on the greens.\u00a0 Returning with dozens of families from the school was a different experience.\u00a0 It was a nice mix of scheduled activities where our son went on tours with his classmates, and free time where we could do whatever we wanted.<\/p>\n

Our first stop was the Jamestown settlement where we traveled back in time for a glimpse of what it was like for the early colonists and the Powhatan Indians.\u00a0\u00a0 It was fun to meet and chat with other tourists along the way.<\/p>\n

My husband said he took a picture in front of this very cannon during his 7th grade field trip here!<\/p><\/div>\n

I don’t know why, but for some reason I enjoy taking pictures of signs when I walk through a scenic town.\u00a0 Apparently in the colonial times the signs had no words, simply pictures for the large population who could not read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

My favorite stop for a carry-out sandwich. The famous "Death by Chocolate" dessert was created by the owner\/chef.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Everyone has to stop here....we caught a number of teachers inside!<\/p><\/div>\n

I discovered the best peanut brittle here!<\/p><\/div>\n

We were lucky that the weather was perfect the entire weekend.\u00a0 My son’s birthday fell during this trip.\u00a0\u00a0 I hope he’ll always remember his 7th birthday by our family trip to Williamsburg.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We hit one last place before we returned home…Bush Gardens.\u00a0 Just in time for the Memorial Day weekend crowd!\u00a0 It wasn’t too bad…there were a few loooong lines, but going on 3-D and 4-D rides were worth it!<\/p>\n
