{"id":21,"date":"2007-07-24T14:26:41","date_gmt":"2007-07-24T21:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=21"},"modified":"2007-07-24T14:26:41","modified_gmt":"2007-07-24T21:26:41","slug":"a-few-things-to-share","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=21","title":{"rendered":"A few things to share"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\">I&#8217;m enjoying one of those days in which I didn&#8217;t over-schedule.\u00a0 This is what the lazy days of summer are all about&#8230;we enjoyed a stroll off the beaten path of a nearby lake, and wandered into a clearing in the woods.\u00a0 My sons and I enjoyed a lunch amidst ants, butterflies and even a snake.\u00a0 Yes, my oldest spied a snake curled along a long stick next to the\u00a0stream.\u00a0 For more summer fun, tonight we are going with a group of little boys to watch a local minor league baseball game.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/heartofmadness1.jpg\" title=\"heart of madness unoxidized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"233\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/heartofmadness1.jpg\" alt=\"heart of madness unoxidized\" height=\"301\" style=\"width: 233px; height: 376px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a new design I created last week.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve had these beautiful, organic beads from Kim at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nightingalegallery.com\" title=\"nightingale gallery\">Nightingale Gallery<\/a>.\u00a0 I wanted to make wire links that would complement their handcrafted uniqueness.\u00a0\ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I used heavy sterling silver wire and created uneven coils.\u00a0 I just love coiling wire.\u00a0 The second picture shows how the piece looks after it\u00a0was oxidized, creating a nice darkened patina.<\/p>\n<p>Before I sign off I wanted to share another favorite pastime.\u00a0 One thing that keeps me up late at night is visiting my favorite indie design blogs.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll admit I&#8217;ve entered the blog craze and have quite a few book marked.\u00a0 As many of you know, the indie design movement really celebrates crafters, artists, and designers who create all kinds of handmade goodies.\u00a0 I would like to support these fellow crafters and highlight their work here from time to time.\u00a0 If you would like to get <em>your<\/em> daily dose of design, and find out who&#8217;s who\u00a0and what they&#8217;re creating, I&#8217;ll point you in the right direction.\u00a0 For starters, hop over to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nolestyleandbeauty.wordpress.com\/\" title=\"nole styel and beauty\">Nole Style and Beauty Indulgence <\/a>to read about great finds in fashion and design.\u00a0 Amaya has a fun blog to read and a great website relaunching soon.\u00a0 Next be sure to check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiefixx.com\/\" title=\"Indie Fixx\">Indie Fixx<\/a>.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll be sure to\u00a0discover something great when you read Jen&#8217;s reviews.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I just have to share a <strong>major<\/strong> source for handmade treasures, for those of you who may not be familiar with it:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\" title=\"etsy\">Etsy<\/a>!\u00a0 Etsy is an online community &#8220;built by artists for artists&#8221;
