{"id":23,"date":"2007-07-26T22:52:40","date_gmt":"2007-07-27T05:52:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=23"},"modified":"2007-07-26T22:52:40","modified_gmt":"2007-07-27T05:52:40","slug":"indie-friendly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=23","title":{"rendered":"Indie Friendly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/hodgepodgerie.jpg\" title=\"Cerulean Elements\"><\/a>It&#8217;s official&#8230; sweet bead studio has been declared &#8220;Indie Friendly&#8221; by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.craftrevolution.com\" title=\"craft revolution\">CraftRevolution<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 CraftRevolution is a\u00a0community that seeks to raise awareness and appreciation for the tradition of crafts in today&#8217;s society.\u00a0 This\u00a0website offers resources for both the indie business owner and buyers alike.<\/p>\n<p>In jewelry-making news, I think I created a very (as they say) <em>yummy<\/em> necklace today!\u00a0\u00a0Recently I revisited\u00a0one of my first beading books (if not my very first!), &#8220;Simply Beautiful Beading&#8221;, \u00a0by Heidi Boyd.\u00a0 \u00a0I came across a necklace that featured a\u00a0purchased hook clasp that was made out of wire&#8230;I knew right away that I wanted to make a clasp just like it.\u00a0 I coiled wire around a heavy-gauge base, and created a similar clasp that would become the assistant-focal of a new style of jewelry for sweet bead studio.\u00a0 I am going to call this style necklace a &#8220;Hodgepodgerie&#8221; &#8230;not to be confused with our Shih Tzu, Hodgie, of course!\u00a0 \u00a0The new necklace, Cerulean Elements, contains many of my favorites: \u00a0wirework, artisan lampwork, crystal, silver and even pearls.\u00a0 It was quite difficult to photograph so I am going to show you how it looks when it is worn.\u00a0 This picture was taken by my very young assistant. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/hodgepodgerie.jpg\" title=\"Cerulean Elements\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"372\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/hodgepodgerie.jpg\" alt=\"Cerulean Elements\" height=\"387\" style=\"width: 372px; height: 387px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/hodgepodgerie.jpg\" title=\"Cerulean Elements\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s official&#8230; sweet bead studio has been declared &#8220;Indie Friendly&#8221; by\u00a0CraftRevolution.\u00a0\u00a0 CraftRevolution is a\u00a0community that seeks to raise awareness and appreciation for the tradition of crafts in today&#8217;s society.\u00a0 This\u00a0website offers resources for both the indie business owner and buyers alike.
