The last day of 2009 is here!!!\u00a0 How can that be?\u00a0 Do you feel as if the year flew by too fast??\u00a0 It was a good one and I am content.\u00a0 You all – my blogging friends\u00a0old and new\u00a0– have been a huge part of 2009 for me!\u00a0 I met many of you for the first time this year and I’m looking forward to meeting many new friends in 2010 (can you believe, a new decade<\/em>?)\u00a0 Which brings me to this word….<\/p>\n

A little while back my friend (one met in 2009!) Erin<\/a> announced her Word of the Year<\/strong> for 2010 on her blog and encouraged us to do the same.\u00a0 I like that concept:\u00a0 picking a word to serve as a sort of guiding light for the year.\u00a0 I’ve seen others do this on their blogs.\u00a0 Erin emailed me the other day and asked if I had picked mine yet….so here it is!\u00a0 I hope to DISCOVER more wonderful artists (and their blogs!), DISCOVER new jewelry techniques and learn new skills, and DISCOVER where this path will take me in 2010.\u00a0 Please share your Word of the Year<\/strong> if you have chosen one too!<\/span><\/p>\n

I received a package this week from a pair of talented jewelry designers in Austrailia, Sissy Sparrows <\/a>(they just started their blog in 2009).\u00a0 I coudn’t resist this beautiful soldered “shadow box” when they listed it in their new Etsy shop.\u00a0 Just look at the sweet earrings that they sent along as a surprise.\u00a0 I just love their work…right down to the packaging made from tea-stained muslin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just found out about a Bead Soup Party set for 2010!\u00a0 My friend Lori<\/a> is hosting a virtual party so stop by if you’d like to learn more….what a great way to kick off the new year!<\/span><\/p>\n
