Thought I’d share a few pictures from today… while my older sons are off skiing with their Grandparents for the weekend, the rest of us spent the day in our backyard.\u00a0 Leesburg is practically<\/em> our backyard, and my favorite local place for hitting a few antique shops and a couple of good bakeries (if you know me, you know those are 2 of my favorite destinations!).\u00a0<\/p>\n

This shop always has wonderful painted furniture pieces.\u00a0 It seems that every time I stop in, I find myself saying,”this would make a great storage piece for my dream studio…..”<\/p>\n

And isn’t this such a sweet picture…looks like a graduating class from 1913 – almost 100 years ago!\u00a0 I was intrigued by this one, and looked at each face one by one…..wondering who they were and what they were thinking.\u00a0 Just look at the big white bows worn by many of the girls!\u00a0 I read somewhere, maybe on a blog, how the writer collected old pictures of a certain theme…say for example, graduation pictures, siblings, beach scenes, weddings, boys with puppies…. I think this would be a fun! \u00a0 I know for one I do love pictures of sailors – young or old.\u00a0 Today I saw the sweetest picture of two brothers in their sailor suits…<\/p>\n

And this last one…. It’s the Mighty Midget Kitchen<\/a>.\u00a0 What a curious little restaurant with an equally interesting history. Would you believe it was created from a recycled piece of a WWII bomber.\u00a0 I read that there were several constructed by a CA company, but that this is the only one still in existence.<\/p>\n

Sunday, January 17th is the opening day for the Richard Salley workshop<\/a>!!\u00a0 It would be GREAT to meet you there for this brand new workshop!<\/p>\n
