Hello friends<\/p>\n

Sure hope you’re in the midst of a great weekend.\u00a0 \u00a0It’s sunny and beautiful here in Virginia.\u00a0 I thought about what I’d like to share with you this time around and a few handmade goodies came to mind!\u00a0 It was a great week from a mail perspective….the mailman brought me a few surprises.<\/p>\n

Isn’t this a sweet scarflette<\/em>?\u00a0 This gift came from the uber-talented Kerry of KABS Concepts<\/a>.\u00a0 Her knitting projects grace the pages of her blog almost as often as her wonderful lampwork beads.\u00a0 I love the bright color she used – perfect shot of brightness on a drab winter day.<\/p>\n

You may remember this beautiful piece by Sharon of Livewire Jewelry<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 I fell in love with this piece as soon as I saw it and we made a trade….now this lucky piece is mine (lucky – the back of the Green Girl Studios pendant is inscribed with “a thousand wishes”).\u00a0\u00a0 One wish already came true as Sharon\u00a0tucked some of her\u00a0wonderful mixed media pieces in with the package.<\/p>\n

…now on to what I <\/em>sent out earlier in the week.\u00a0 My bead partner in Lori’s Bead Soup Party<\/a>\u00a0 is an amazing lampwork artist in Texas named Lyn Foley<\/a>.\u00a0 Lyn makes INCREDIBLE lampwork beads and jewelry…she won honorable mention in the seed bead category in last year’s Bead Star competition (actually, she has won many awards – no surprise).\u00a0 You just have to visit her blog and see her awe-inspiring work!\u00a0\u00a0 Just to give you an example, here’s one of her necklaces entitled “Amber Bubbles” –<\/p>\n

I had asked Lyn if she had a preference on what type of beads I should send for the Bead Soup party, and she asked that I send something handmade.\u00a0 Hmm…I don’t exactly make my own beads so the next best thing was to create something with wire.\u00a0 My Bead Soup set is below….and to see what I make with Lyn’s beautiful beads, check back on February 10th!<\/p>\n
