{"id":3306,"date":"2010-05-14T01:49:24","date_gmt":"2010-05-14T05:49:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=3306"},"modified":"2010-05-14T01:49:25","modified_gmt":"2010-05-14T05:49:25","slug":"the-beauty-of-spring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=3306","title":{"rendered":"The Beauty of Spring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3312\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=3312\"><\/a>What do I think of when I think of Spring?\u00a0\u00a0Pretty May flowers of course!\u00a0 Vintage flowers took center stage when I designed \u00a0jewelry for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbeads.com\">Artbead&#8217;s<\/a> <span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8220;Beauty of Spring&#8221;<\/span> Design Partner&#8217;s theme.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When I selected beads for my design, I did something a little different.\u00a0 Rather than search for interesting focal beads, I decided to\u00a0 choose beads that would be perfect in a <em>supporting<\/em> role.\u00a0 I wanted beads that added the right <em>something <\/em>to the overall design.\u00a0\u00a0 I was just dying to try a new tutorial by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosajosies.com\">Diane Cook<\/a>, her <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">beautiful <\/span>Crystal Princess Drop secret.\u00a0 I had a whole collection of vintage chandelier crystals waiting to be used.\u00a0 I tried some image transferring with them, but that technique still needs some work.\u00a0 So I set out to make a few Crystal Princess Drop focals, and needed just the right accent beads.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3307\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=3307\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3307  aligncenter\" title=\"spring-flower-necklaces5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces5.jpg\" alt=\"spring-flower-necklaces5\" width=\"515\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces5.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces5-150x122.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces5-300x244.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Would you like to see how I used these seemingly simple beads?\u00a0 You may have to look closely, but they&#8217;re mixed in here\u00a0 &#8211; adding their special sparkle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3308\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=3308\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3308  aligncenter\" title=\"spring-flower-necklaces\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces.jpg\" alt=\"spring-flower-necklaces\" width=\"515\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces-150x136.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/spring-flower-necklaces-300x272.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For &#8220;Joy in Bloom&#8221;, I wanted to add some metal stamping, and created a tear-drop shaped pendant to add to the focal cluster.\u00a0 For a twist, I wired on a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbeads.com\/3230-cry12.html\">Swarovski 12mm tear drop sew-on<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0crystal tear drop\u00a0was\u00a0stitched on to the metal with sterling wire.\u00a0 To further add to the tear-drop shapes, I also chose a stamped Hill Tribe flower charm from ArtBead&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbeads.com\/hill-tribes-silver.html\">vast selection of Thai silver <\/a>charms.\u00a0 Crystal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbeads.com\/rds-crys5.html\">5mm roundelles <\/a>\u00a0were paired with vintage mother of pearl beads.\u00a0 And those <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbeads.com\/5203-bkd12.html\">Swarovski Black Diamond polygons <\/a>added a bit of subtle sparkle as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3309\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=3309\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3309  aligncenter\" title=\"joy-in-bloom4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/joy-in-bloom4.jpg\" alt=\"joy-in-bloom4\" width=\"515\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/joy-in-bloom4.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/joy-in-bloom4-150x133.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/joy-in-bloom4-300x266.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;Joy in Bloom&#8221; available on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.etsy.com\">Etsy<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;Contessa&#8221; features another crystal chandelier pendant, paired with a gorgeous vintage rhinestone flower.\u00a0 Wirewrapped links of pyrite were combined with the Swarovski crystal roundelles.\u00a0 These roundelles are just the perfect addition when working with vintage components, and they come in <a href=\"http:\/\/search.artbeads.com\/?lcr=1&amp;view=&amp;q=crystal+roundelle\">several sizes and finishes<\/a>.
