{"id":343,"date":"2008-09-12T03:00:15","date_gmt":"2008-09-12T10:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=343"},"modified":"2008-09-12T03:00:15","modified_gmt":"2008-09-12T10:00:15","slug":"creating-with-copper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=343","title":{"rendered":"Creating with Copper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/belle-armoir-jewelry-fall-08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-344  aligncenter\" title=\"belle-armoir-jewelry-fall-08\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/belle-armoir-jewelry-fall-08-231x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I recently picked up one of my favorite jewelry design magazines, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stampington.com\/html\/belle_armoire_jewelry.html\">Belle Armoire Jewelry<\/a>.\u00a0 The Fall &#8217;08 issue is just beautiful with so many inspiring designs and crisp photos.\u00a0 There was a particular bracelet that immediately caught my eye&#8230;.must have been the use of lampwork and wire.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not usually one to try out a new tutorial right away, but this time I did.\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t wait to try the woven wire technique by Sharon of <a href=\"http:\/\/manamoon-studios.blogspot.com\/\">Mana Moon Studios.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been wanting to incorporate copper in my jewelry because I really\u00a0like the patina it has when it ages or is oxidized (like an old penny).\u00a0 I had recently stocked up on good quality pure copper wire from the Etsy seller, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop.php?user_id=59341\">catdancingranch<\/a>.\u00a0 Here is my version of the wire-woven bracelet which I named &#8220;No Rules Necessary&#8221;&#8230; it was fun to randomly wrap with copper (and silver!) wire.\u00a0 I used lampwork beads from Kim Typanski and Moon Stumpp.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/norulesnecessary2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-345  aligncenter\" title=\"norulesnecessary2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/norulesnecessary2-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Continuing to ease in to using Fall colors, I then created a necklace using gorgeous lampwork beads by Kim Typanski that I had been saving.\u00a0 I thought copper wire would be just right for these beads.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I was really happy with the way the piece turned out once I oxidized the necklace in Liver of Sulphur.\u00a0 I tumbled the necklace bright and early this morning before taking the kids to school.\u00a0 I think this copper wire just might be a new favorite!
