{"id":3645,"date":"2010-06-30T01:49:31","date_gmt":"2010-06-30T05:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=3645"},"modified":"2010-07-08T02:59:26","modified_gmt":"2010-07-08T06:59:26","slug":"art-bead-scene-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=3645","title":{"rendered":"Art Bead Scene Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you heard?\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbeadscene.blogspot.com\/\"> Art Bead Scene<\/a> {the go-to site for the latest in handmade art beads} has a new feature!\u00a0 The editors are now offering a monthly Design Team Challenge!\u00a0 I was invited to participate by Heather Powers this month, along with fellow designers Erin Prais-Hintz, Lori Anderson, Jen Judd, and Lorelei Eurto.\u00a0 At the time however, I had no idea who else would be participating, and if we were all given the same beads.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3648\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=3648\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3648\" title=\"willow-and-a-wisp31\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp31.jpg\" alt=\"willow-and-a-wisp31\" width=\"515\" height=\"422\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp31.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp31-150x122.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp31-300x245.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I received a gorgeous set of Heather&#8217;s polymer clay beads to work with, as it turns out, we were all given the same grouping and set free to create something with our own unique styles.\u00a0 I was really excited to see Heather&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/50095669\/autumn-wildflowers-pendant\"> new hand-painted clay beads<\/a> in person &#8211; and let me tell you the colors are so soft and gorgeous.<\/p>\n<p>I set to work\u00a0 framing the pendant on an oval copper backdrop that I etched with a willow pattern.\u00a0 I was so happy to find this willow stamp at <a href=\"http:\/\/ahappystamper.blogspot.com\/\">my local stamp store<\/a> just for this project.\u00a0 I tried a little something new and created a toggle from the same etched metal sheet and with heavy-gauge wire.\u00a0 I then cut and domed bead caps for the Willow Disk beads.\u00a0 Oval-shaped ceramic beads that I found at Bead Fest Wire complemented the shape of the focal, and a double strand of pearls were added.\u00a0 The necklace was oxidized and polished, then finished with a wisp of sari silk ribbon.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-3650\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?attachment_id=3650\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3650\" title=\"willow-and-a-wisp21\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp21.jpg\" alt=\"willow-and-a-wisp21\" width=\"472\" height=\"892\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp21.jpg 472w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp21-150x283.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp21-158x300.jpg 158w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/willow-and-a-wisp21-357x675.jpg 357w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 472px) 100vw, 472px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">sold, thank you<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure looking forward to next month&#8217;s challenge &#8211;
