There’s a sweet award going around the jewelry blog community…have you seen this one?\u00a0 I was flattered to receive the Versatile Blogger award from fellow jewelry designers Amy of Copper Diem<\/a>, Beth of EB Bead and Metal Works<\/a>, Elisabeth of Beads for Busy Gals<\/a>, and Courtney of Beads by Breul<\/a>.\u00a0 You are all so thoughtful! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I wonder where this one originated?\u00a0 Guess I could follow the links all the way back…<\/p>\n

Many of the jewelry blogs I follow are not open to “tags”, so I’ll just share my 7 little things and encourage YOU to participate too if you’d like!\u00a0 With this award, we were to share 7 things about ourselves….\u00a0\u00a0 hmm, let me think of a few quick, random things you may not know.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 I lived in the Philippines in Kindergarten.\u00a0 There were monkeys that would come right up to the back screened door and look right in.\u00a0 Of course, that scared me back then!<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 I love boardwalk fries (still here at the beach and confess to eating too many)….must be that salt and vinegar!<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 The most frequently used tools\/supplies in this “studio” (no real studio at the present, but I brought everything<\/em> I possibly could) are liver of sulfur gel and my Lortone tumbler!<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 I love happy endings.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0 Broke down over the weekend and got a smart phone after my cell phone broke in half!\u00a0 I’ve resisted because I didn’t want to become one of those<\/em> people (always on it).\u00a0 But that video recorder sure came in handy when I took the kids to see the balloon lady at the library today!<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0 I am a brownie afficionado…always in search of the perfect one.\u00a0 And I think I found it.\u00a0 Come to the ArtBliss<\/a> event next month and try one yourself…hoping to have them brought in for the Meet and Greet.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0 So sad that summer will be coming to an end soon.\u00a0 Will hold on to the bitter end.<\/p>\n

Remember how I mentioned that the kids made home made ice cream at the Peach Festival last weekend?\u00a0 I recevied a couple emails asking about the recipe.\u00a0 Here’s a fun activity to do with the kids – and look at the easy ingredients!\u00a0\u00a0 I hope you enjoy….<\/p>\n

VANILLA ICE CREAM (courtesy of the First Grade Scientists, Worcester County School)<\/p>\n

1 tray of ice cubes<\/p>\n

6 TBSP. salt<\/p>\n

1-gallon plastic zipper freezer bag<\/p>\n

1-pint plastic zipper freezer bag<\/p>\n

1\/2 cup milk<\/p>\n

1\/2 tsp. vanilla extract<\/p>\n

1 TBSP. sugar<\/p>\n
