finished my charms for the ArtBLISS charm swap.\u00a0\u00a0 I just love the traditions that go along with art retreats.\u00a0 If you&#8217;ve ever been to one, you&#8217;ll know that trading is a big part of the subculture.\u00a0 I was indoctrinated when I met\u00a0 a very artistic science teacher named Maureen at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=1088\"> Art and Soul in 2009<\/a>.\u00a0 Luckily she&#8217;s coming down from NY (yeah!) and organized a charm swap for our event.\u00a0\u00a0To celebrate Fall, a leaf theme was chosen.<\/p>\n<p>I made a bunch of origami cups, little pouches for my charms.\u00a0 I got this idea when I received earrings that I had ordered from Sandra over at <a href=\"http:\/\/preservejewelrystudio.blogspot.com\/\">Preserve Jewelry Studio<\/a>.\u00a0 She makes such gorgeous earrings, like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/54987918\/gypsy-garnet-garnet-rimmed-brass-rings\">these<\/a> and sends them in handmade paper envelopes.\u00a0 She shared her tips with me on how to make them, and double-sided is good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full first charm idea just didn&#8217;t work out.\u00a0 When I showed them to my husband, he said, &#8220;What are they supposed to be?&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;Leaves.&#8221;\u00a0 So then I turned to my familiar friend &#8211;<em>wire-<\/em>\u00a0and just made some crystal wire-wrapped beads and added a brass leaf stamping.\u00a0 I oxidized them and even tumbled them for a bit.\u00a0 I admit they kinda look like one-winged insects or something&#8230;.but they&#8217;ll have to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-4172\"
