These days I find myself tuning\u00a0in to Pandora<\/a> when I’m up late and working on the computer.\u00a0 Like right now I’m enjoying a little retro flashback with\u00a0The Psychedelic\u00a0Furs\u00a0and I’m transported back to the early 5 years\u00a0of when we lived in Germany\u00a0– sigh (such great times).<\/p>\n

This week I had a great time at Angela’s Happy Stamper taking a beginning stamping class with Jeanette<\/a>.\u00a0 I can’t believe I’ve been wanting to do this for a year and finally it worked out with my schedule.\u00a0 I know it’s been a year because I went back to find the post about my cool stamping\u00a0book <\/a>– and I found it last <\/em>October!\u00a0 My stamper extraordinaire friend, Maureen, created a stamping practice book for me,\u00a0which I took\u00a0to class and filled with notes.\u00a0 I know, many of you know inks like the back of your hand….but we newbies have to start somewhere!\u00a0 I can see how hanging out in a stamp store can be dangerous<\/span>….so many cool stamps, pens, powders….and\u00a0 latest issues of \u00a0Stampington magazines to tempt me!\u00a0\u00a0 The last thing I need is a new interest, but today I couldn’t help myself.\u00a0 I embossed a few thank-you cards, and ended up with glitter everywhere!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

I love surprises.\u00a0 And I couldn’t be happier that the mailman has brought me quite a few lately.\u00a0 Can I show them off here?\u00a0 They are from blog friends.\u00a0 First I want to show you some absolutely stunning seed bead earrings by Nancy Peterson of Beading from the Heart<\/a>.\u00a0 A little while ago she featured a set in her Elspeth series.\u00a0 I loved the earrings and inquired about ordering a custom pair… could she make them in a black\/neutral color scheme?\u00a0 Nancy was happy to oblige and\u00a0emailed photos of color variations as she made them to be sure they were what I had in mind.\u00a0 I couldn’t be happier with them!\u00a0 And she even sent me an additional pair as a huge<\/em> surprise!\u00a0 And fyi, if you work with seed beads, Nancy is offering a discount right now on her patterns.<\/p>\n

Going back to last October again, back then I\u00a0offered a blog give away and Boot-C of Mama’s Got to Doodle <\/a>won.\u00a0 Coincidentally I recently won a give away on her<\/em> blog.\u00a0 She sent me a sweet beaded fairy, a little handmade box full of beads, and – so touching – a mixed metal heart she made with the sheet metal and stamps she won in my give away. \u00a0 Now that was really nice to see!<\/p>\n

I have no idea how I got so lucky, but I recently won a give away on one of Kerry’s Totally Twisted Spotlight\u00a0<\/a>posts.\u00a0\u00a0 Kerry interviewed one of the lampwork artists whose beads were featured in her book.\u00a0\u00a0 I met Cassie Donlen <\/a>at BeadFest in the spring…and was thrilled to win one of her signature necklaces.\u00a0 Cassie is the Queen Bee as well in an all-male household…..so I will truly treasure the pretty all-girl lampwork beads she created for this piece.\u00a0 I just love them!<\/div>\n
