Lately it seems as if I have my camera in my hands more often than my wire and pliers.\u00a0 Even though wire work is about as portable as jewelry-making can get, taking pictures is even easier in my lifestyle.\u00a0 I’m addicted to taking \u00a0pictures and always have been.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Do you feel\u00a0\u00a0like something is missing when you leave your camera behind?\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 And my purse is SO much lighter, big suitcase that it is (if you’ve seen it, you know what I mean!).<\/div>\n

I’m currently\u00a0a\u00a0enjoying an\u00a0eCourse through Big Picture Classes <\/a>\u00a0(found this great site through Kerry<\/a> over the summer).\u00a0 In Get Great Photos with Any Camera <\/em>by Elisha Snow<\/a>, we are learning the fundamentals.\u00a0 Not just how to take good <\/em>pictures, but how to take great<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>pictures.\u00a0 Some of the topics in the syllabus are lighting, composition, icon settings, flash, and post-processing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I have an increased awareness of all those little details for sure now!\u00a0 \u00a0To celebrate their 5th anniversary, Big Picture Classes is planning a 5-day celebration on their blog<\/a>.\u00a0 I hear there are giveaways, challenges and discounts in store!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The weather\u00a0was fabulous (I’m not taking a high 60’s day in November for granted!), so we went to nearby Algonkian Park <\/a>\u00a0for the first time….walking, tossing the football, and stone skipping\u00a0were on the agenda.\u00a0 My oldest son informed me that Algonkian\u00a0refers\u00a0to Native American tribes who speak a\u00a0related language, such as the Powatans of Virginia.\u00a0 The park was amazing.\u00a0 Being on the shores of the Potomac, it was the perfect place to shoot some pictures (while\u00a0trying to utilize the elements outlined in my class).\u00a0 I hope you’ll pardon me for taking yet more<\/em> kid shots – but they are ready and available\u00a0subjects!<\/p>\n

The picture-taking came to an end when my camera battery died.\u00a0 That was fine because it was early enough to\u00a0head over to Sweetwater Tavern <\/a>and actually get a seat.\u00a0 Those infamous Ozzie rolls (beignet-like dough balls) were calling our names.\u00a0<\/p>\n
