{"id":7261,"date":"2011-10-11T11:35:07","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T15:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=7261"},"modified":"2011-10-11T11:35:07","modified_gmt":"2011-10-11T15:35:07","slug":"antiquing-in-the-great-outdoors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=7261","title":{"rendered":"Antiquing {in the great outdoors}"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post is all about the <em>thrill of the hunt<\/em>. \u00a0I know many of you know that feeling well. \u00a0If you share this same feeling, then by all means, head to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lancaster County, PA<\/span>\u00a0if you can!\u00a0Over the weekend, my parents took the older boys with them to the beach, and we took a road trip to one of our favorite destinations. \u00a0Seems like everyone had the same thing in mind because traffic in Lancaster was bumper to bumper. \u00a0We eventually made it to our first stop though &#8211; an amusement park especially for small kids. In all of my years in this area, I&#8217;m not sure why we never made it to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dutchwonderland.com\/\">Dutch Wonderland<\/a> before, but we made up for it with roller coaster and water log rides!<\/p>\n<p>Chances are if you&#8217;re in<a href=\"http:\/\/www.antiquescapital.com\/index.asp\"> Adamstown<\/a>, you know all about their incredible outdoor flea markets. \u00a0We&#8217;ve <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=6499\">gone to Adamstown<\/a> a few times this past year, but still had something new to experience: \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shuppsgrove.com\/\">Shupp&#8217;s Grove<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>When <a href=\"http:\/\/souvenirsfromlife.blogspot.com\/\">Laura Twiford<\/a>\u00a0told me about a flea market we had been missing, I made a mental note to visit the next time we were in town. These are not too hard to find, and date from 1912 to 1959.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7272\" title=\"Shupp'sGrove_48StarFlags_opt\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/ShuppsGrove_48StarFlags_opt1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"515\" height=\"703\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/ShuppsGrove_48StarFlags_opt1.jpg 515w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/ShuppsGrove_48StarFlags_opt1-150x204.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/ShuppsGrove_48StarFlags_opt1-219x300.jpg 219w, http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/ShuppsGrove_48StarFlags_opt1-494x675.jpg 494w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I bought this stair-step style stand and filled it with all sorts of finds from one vendor alone. \u00a0He had SO many tables and boxes to dig through, we were at his &#8220;booth&#8221; for over an hour easily. \u00a0Everything except the chalkware figurine, buttons, MOP buckles and the rosary bracelet came from him for a total of $30, including the stand. \u00a0I am <em>convinced <\/em>that the best deals are found outdoors in the flea markets.
