Hi and welcome to Spring Break!\u00a0 The kids are home from school this week so it should be fun and interesting around here.\u00a0 I am looking forward to a relaxed routine without all that driving around that I do all day long between the schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now how was that for a beautiful weekend??\u00a0 For Palm Sunday today it reached around 70 degrees…my kind of weather!\u00a0 Yesterday was breezy but a nice one too.\u00a0 It was a lacrosse day.\u00a0 My 8 year old played his first game and my six year old had his first practice.\u00a0 \u00a0I played\u00a0lacrosse briefly in college, and my Dad played throughout his college years.\u00a0\u00a0 An East Coast tradition lives on.<\/p>\n

On Saturday\u00a0evening, my parents took the 2 lacrosse players on a unplanned trip to the beach so we were down to just 2 boys at home.\u00a0 As my husband said, it felt like “date night”!\u00a0 We went out to eat, stopped to get a piece of my favorite chocolate cake, then stopped at Michaels.\u00a0 I finally found my copy of the new Marie <\/em>publication!<\/p>\n

Today we headed out to one of my all time favorite “local” destinations – the Lucketts store <\/a>just outside of Leesburg.\u00a0 If you like shabby chic or just\u00a0plain ole\u00a0treasure hunting (and you’re from around here), you’re probably very familiar with this popular place.\u00a0 Lucketts was an old post office and general store and now it’s the <\/em>place to go, knowing you’ll find something great.\u00a0 The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the DC area, the shop is overflowing to the parking lot, and the staff is always friendly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When we arrived on the scene, we got to talking to a nice staff member named Henry who came to work on a carpentry job\u00a0at Lucketts\u00a014 years ago and stayed.\u00a0 He helped us pick out some scrolly, rusty iron bits from the junk heap that was going to be tossed out.\u00a0 I thought they would be perfect for photo props.\u00a0 The old iron bits and pieces were intended to be picked up by young workers as scrap iron to be turned in for gas money…but the guys never came and the scraps were heading for the trash.\u00a0 We took plenty of pictures to share with you.\u00a0 Everywhere you looked around the property there was something just right to photograph….the old red doodlebug in the field….the buildings that used to be a horse farm…the pretty cupcake stand by a nice baker from PA.\u00a0\u00a0 I just love this place.\u00a0 Interior designers from around the area do too.<\/p>\n
