Time for another fun jewelry challenge! \u00a0Today’s challenge? \u00a0The “Do Over” \u00a0hosted by\u00a0Jeannie Dukic<\/a>! \u00a0How’s this for a great idea: \u00a0Jeannie sent us a piece of jewelry that she made in her early days that she no longer intends to sell. \u00a0We were to take the piece of jewelry and run with it. \u00a0 It was interesting anticipating what she would send ! \u00a0Let me show you what came my way….<\/p>\n

Well now I thought the necklace I received was pretty as it was! \u00a0I had plenty of \u00a0yellow jade nuggets, a \u00a0silver-colored ring, and coral sticks to work with.<\/p>\n

Now on to how I reinvented this piece! \u00a0I didn’t have the heart to cut apart all of those yellow jade wire-wrapped links, so I decided to work with them. \u00a0I doubled them up as two strands in the back of the necklace. \u00a0I played around with the placement of the silver ring, but in the end, I kept it in the center. \u00a0I coiled wire around the ring to add some texture, and added a cluster of beads with a sterling silver leaf. Everything was then oxidized.<\/p>\n

The necklace is now shorter and has additional color with the turquoise beads, but yet keeps the Southwestern look.<\/p>\n
