Try a 3-In-One Necklace This Summer!

by Cindy on July 14, 2012

I’m so pleased to feature a project from the Aug./Sept. issue of SBS Wire.  Have you seen this issue?  I’m away from home so I didn’t see my copy but happened upon it at Michael’s last night.  I pulled the boys over to check it out ….thankfully they are patient, for a time,  when I go in to jewelry-talking-mode (and you know what I mean).

Pura Vida is a two-part project recently shown in Easy Wire.  Big, bright Tibetan beads are wire-wrapped in an easy-to-do asymmetrical necklace.  Little did I know how they would be used when I bought those beads last year at Bead and Button.

Wear the Tibetan necklace alone, or pair it with a silver necklace made of handmade wire links.  The twisted wire adds texture and depth.  When you wear just the chain, the turquoise beads around the back will be hidden behind your neck.  You can go from chunky to simple and classic.

Create the illusion of layers with two completely independent necklaces!

Be sure to check out this issue of SBS Wire to see the work of two artBLISS instructors!  Stacie Florer and Kerry Bogert will be teaching workshops from metal work to lampwork this September in the greater Washington DC area.  Personally, I love how this issue represents a few circles in my life – so neat how it all ties together:  jewelry + friends.

Congrats Cindy on making the cover! It is a beautiful set, I really like the Tibetan beads, had picked some up myself a few years ago at Beadfest but have been hoarding them, this has inspired me to get them out and put them to good use! It was so wonderful to see you this past week, I tried to do a post about it but problems arose, will email you later, hopefully can get the post done today. Hugs, Laura

I really love this idea and this particular necklace. Thinking maybe I needed to head out the door this very minute and get a copy this issue.

Congrats once again Cindy! When I rec’d this issue, at first glance, while still in the post office, I thought it looked like a Cindy Wimmer necklace! Love this style! Lots of great pieces in this issue!

Keep sharing your beautiful designs, Cindy! I live in a region where the Walmart is practically the only place to buy mags, so I very much appreciate seeing them featured online. Helps me decide what to order as downloads.

Gorgeous work, as always, Cindy! I love the dual layers and the colors and that unexpected pop of orange! Hope you’re having a great time at the beach (you lucky duck, you!). I really love seeing your work!

Absolutely stunning! Those Tibetan beads are amazing and I love how there are two lonely yellow ones thrown in ^.^

I’m a fan of any jewelry that is multifunctional like that necklace!

Oh yes, I saw this beauty in the magazine! Congratulations on a great feature! I love that this can be worn more than one way. The Tibetan beads are just beautiful, as is the chain!

Congrats again, Cindy.
Yes, I agree, your photo layout makes the two look even more lush.
They should have used yours.

Stunning, stunning, stunning! I actually looked for this issue in JoAnn a couple of nights ago because Stacie has a project in it. I didn’t realize it was your necklace on the cover! Now I have double the reasons to hunt this issue down. Spent a fantastic day today with Cat, my art sister as you dubbed us. Jewelry + friends! The best!

I just saw this issue at Books A Million this weekend–such a bold statement and yet so “Cindy”! Love the way you used the Tibetan beads and those wonderful wire links. The way you’ve arranged it, the two just perfectly merge together.
