Focus on Life {Beaches and Peaches}

by Cindy on August 19, 2013

Week 33 is here and the Focus on Life -52 Week photo challenge is all about what is In Season.

“What’s in Season where you live?

Fruits, vegetables, a certain kind of flower?

Or is it bathing suits and beach umbrellas? Scarves or mittens?

This week, do some investigating and search for what is in season where you live!”

What’s in season around here?  Peaches!  I attended a couple of good ole fashioned peach festivals recently.   The small-town ambiance in Berlin, Md is irresistible, and we were happy to attend their 5th annual festival.

Summertime on the Eastern Shore means sunshine and the beaches are in season!  I haven’t posted a single picture from the ocean all summer so I’ll have to remedy that right now.  This is, afterall, my favorite season of the year!  Here are some pictures from Assateague Island – home of one of our favorite beaches.

Can you tell I love summertime? 😉

And one more reason to love the being around the water – the spectacular sunsets.

The Missing Link by Cindy Wimmer

Today I received an unexpected surprise!  It seemed like an ordinary afternoon – until I saw the mail.  A white box from my publisher arrived….could it be?  My advance copy of my book, The Missing Link arrived!  I wasn’t expecting it so soon!  I was SO happy to hold the book in my hands for the very first time.  My husband insisted that we take a video – so here’s the big moment recorded with my handy dandy cell phone.  🙂

Speaking of the book – my extraordinary web developer, Andrea Arden, recently finished up .  I’ve been offering presales for signed copies in my Etsy shop, but now The Missing Link has a home of its own.   It is available on Amazon and the Interweave site too,  among other fine book sellers.  I want to say a big thank you to all who have already purchased a copy.  THANK YOU! There will be a fun blog book tour as it gets closer to the actual release date – I’ll keep you posted on that.

Thanks for stopping by.  I always appreciate your visit.

Cindy xoxo

Focus on Life {Hues of Blue}

by Cindy on August 3, 2013

Week 31 Photo Challenge

Did someone say BLUE?

When Sally Russick shared that the photo prompt for Week 31 was “Hues of Blue”, I knew I would just have to jump in.  The 52 Week Photo Challenge is all about my favorite color.  I’m inspired by blue. I’m drawn to blue – and I know many of you are too.  I can’t help but pull out my camera when I see the right shade of blue. 🙂   If you’re crazy about aqua, teal and turquoise like me, please visit my Pinterest board and see the many beautiful pictures I’ve been collecting in this palette. Here are some of my own –

Old Blue Door

Vintage Estate Wagon toy car

Blue birdhouse

Blue Pie Safe

Chevrolet Bel Air

Vintage blue glass bottles

Old blue house

Old painted door

Tiffany & Co.

 See what hues of blue others are sharing here.
