Hello
If you collect old buttons – and even if you do not – I have a simple project to share. I selected a few of my favorite carved mother of pearl buttons for a quick and easy wire-wrapped pendant tutorial. With just one button and a few inches of wire, you’ll have a brand new necklace to wear in no time. Lampwork discs, ceramic pendants and other flat components are just the right thing to make a pendant too.

I’m happy to join the Craftsy community and will be a contributor to their jewelry blog. There’s always brand new content + inspiration over in the Craftsy columns – something for everyone (paper crafts, photography, knitting, cake decorating, sewing…just to name a few!), so check back frequently.
You’ll find my wire-wrapped pendant tutorial right here, complete with step by step pictures. Grab your favorite button or two and just a few tools, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re excited to announce the artBLISS doors are open for registration.
artBLISS jewelry workshops is celebrating its 5th anniversary and we would love for you to join us! It’s hard to believe 5 years have gone by since we hosted the Inaugural Event, a gathering of top-notch instructors and fellow jewelry designers and friends. We have met so many people from our jewelry community and made new friends over the years. We’ve learned new techniques and left the events feeling inspired with a renewed love for handmade jewelry. We’ve had the privilege of learning from generous instructors who have come in from all over the country. Students, too, have joined us all the way from CA and Canada. This year we’re continuing this tradition and hope to make it the best year yet. Won’t you join us?

artBLISS 2014 will offer exciting workshops with these renowned instructors:

See all of the workshops being offered and register here. We have classes to suit everyone’s schedule, from a special evening workshop to a 3-day intensive option.
If you’d like a glimpse of what it’s like to attend a retreat at artBLISS, have a look at one of our recent events. Deryn Mentock and Diane Cook joined us for Boots & Bliss – an incredibly fun-filled weekend! Here are a few photos from the retreat back in March

Having fun at the Saturday night Shindig! We had an extra-special vendor that joined us all the way from PA. Linda Sarubin of The Gatchellville Store brought all sorts of vintage and antique components – mainly buttons! We couldn’t resist. Fortunately for us, Linda plans to return in September for our 5th Anniversary weekend.

I’ve been so excited to share pictures of a recent excursion to Lucketts, a destination I’ve blogged about many times before. Life kinda got in the way, but here I am finally with photos to share. Funny thing is it’s snowing again today… so please enjoy a few last pictures of the snow, and the beauty that is all around the Lucketts property.

Yes, we brought this vintage tabletop dress form home – simply couldn’t pass it up a second time. My husband reminded me that I took a picture of it here at the last Luckett’s Spring Market…. I know there must be a reason I crossed paths with it twice. Brings this Hey Girl image to mind that I have pinned in my dress forms board on Pinterest… with permission from Colleen of Fresh Vintage. Yes, I do have a dress forms in my garage and basement, not to mention the studio….

Oh! Of course no trip to Leesburg would be complete without a stop at Mom’s Apple Pie, a sweet little bake shop (don’t let the size fool you – they have it ALL inside)….home of the perfect, buttery pie crust. 🙂

Thank you for joining me on our latest treasure-hunting excursion. Next up: photos from the recent – AMAZING – artBLISS Boots & Bliss weekend! 🙂
