Copper Component Blog Hop!

by Cindy on February 4, 2012

In the midst of winter, I’ve been transported back to a sunny summer’s day.  How did I get so lucky?  I jumped at Kristi Bowman’s challenge and joined her Copper Component Blog Hop!  For Kristi’s blog hop, the participants chose to work with either her sea-inspired Urchin or Ammonite components.  Kristi’s copper clay components are shaped and molded by hand and then fired – I love their rustic quality.
For my bracelet, I chose a handful of lampwork beads in colors of the sand and surf.  A few of the beads are by Moon Stumpp, one from a set I’ve held on to for years…it was featured in SBS Wire in 2009 (yes, that WAS a long time ago!).  To complement the seaside theme, I also added soft-colored Keshi pearls.
Stop by and see what the other participants have created – bet you’ll stay warm and you’ll be dreaming of summer time just like me!

That’s just stunning Cindy! a perfect combination of colours and my favourites to boot! The textural contrast is spot on and the way the teal pearls mirror the reactive glass in the lampwork is perfect.Love it!

Somehow you’ve made that whole bracelet look like a treasure that was pulled up from the bottom of the sea floor. (That’s definitely a good thing in my book.) The colors you’ve chosen are subtle, but stunning and just seem to flow perfectly with the Copper component. Nice!

Christine Damm February 9, 2012 at 7:43 am

Cindy, you have the most amazing aesthetic– your designs really feature the beads, supporting them with your beautiful wirework so they become something special. It’s always about the beads, not about you. You just let them shine and, in doing so, you show your amazing talent! Fabulous!
