Focus on Life – Week 8 {monochromatic}

by Cindy on February 23, 2013

Hello!

This week’s Focus on Life challenge is all about monochromatic pictures. I happen to love classic black and white pictures, and vintage sepia tones.  I decided to share a very recent picture, one take this evening as a matter of fact.

There are a bunch of jewelry designers living right here in northern VA and we’ve been trying to get together for a good old-fashioned cookie swap since the holidays.  Even though not  everyone could make it, we forged ahead and finally met for an evening of great talk and yummy cookies.  Kathleen’s husband was so sweet and made us freshly ground coffee, his specialty.

Four hours flies by when you’re among friends, especially when you have a love of beads in common.  The best coffee and plenty of cookies right smack in the middle of table sealed the deal.

Oh my, and then there were beads.  Beads like we have never seen before.  An exclusive look in to Kathleen’s studio, and we all thought we died and went to heaven. 🙂  Fun was had by all.

Please visit Sally Russick’s blog and see what other monochromatic goodies are being shared!

Designers, talk, cookies, coffee, and beads … what more could a girl ask for?
Love the “colors” of monochromatic. Great photos, Cindy.

Looks like a great time! I couldn’t believe that was someone’s studio. I thought you all went bead shopping at a store!

Sounds like a perfect evening to me–friends, beads, and cookies. And so nice to have these lovely photos to remember it by.

Okay first,…that’s her studio and not a bead shop? Holy cow smokes Batman, that’s a lot of beads! I want to go there!! And second,…cookies, fresh yummy coffee and other beady peeps to hang with – this would be heaven for me!! Luck girl. Awesome photography too, by the way!! 😉 I especially love the shot of all the cookies.

oh come on … that is someone’s studio?! That is just pure heaven !! so bead talk, cookies and lots, and lots of beads? who wouldn’t sign up for that? LOL

I do quite love the classic B&W look in a picture, too! It’s just so timeless 🙂

It sounds like that cookie exchange was a big success even though it was late. Better late then never, right?!

Great photos Cindy, but um, did you say they were her beads????? I thought they were a trunk show or something – good Lord!

Sandi Volpe February 23, 2013 at 3:33 pm

Cindy, thanks for capturing our evening with such great shots and organizing our get together with Kathleen. We were like giddy children when we walked in to Kathleen’s studio…an amazing space.

I couldn’t believe it when you said that was Kathleen’s studio! It looks like a shop! I am feeling less guilty about my bead stash now, thank you for that 🙂 Isn’t it great to be able to get together with like minded people and just share food and thoughts and laughter? Wish i lived closer.

Wonderful pics, as always. It sure looks like a fun time. I thought the last pic was in a bead shop. You caught just the right instant with that one.

Annette February 23, 2013 at 11:08 pm

It sounds like such a fun time! Even cookies look good in black and white!
