Hello
It has been way too long since I participated in Bead Table Wednesdays! What’s been on my bead table lately? It’s that time of the year and I’ve been working on a few teacher’s gifts. Recently I hand-selected two beautiful focal pendants at the Gem and Jewelry Show. I had two teachers in mind that I knew like to wear a heavier style of jewelry.
I found a jasper I had never heard of before. When I saw the selection of Royal Sahara Jasper pendants, I was drawn in by their bands of color. I learned that quality Royal Sahara Jasper has limited availability, and was found relatively recently (2006) by Oasis Prospecting. You can learn all about Janet and George Sechler’s discovery in the Eastern Sahara Desert on their website.
Visit the Bead Table Wednesday Flickr Pool.
Over the long weekend we got to see our share of rock formations. In fact, we experienced the outdoors in all of its beauty while visiting my husband’s family in southwestern VA. We took a stroll along the trails of the Cascades, home of the renowned waterfalls.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Hi Cindy! I was wondering about Bead table Wednesday myself a few days ago!
Lovely necklace!
I love the pictures of your family!
Cheers~Janet ox
Those necklaces are beautiful! Lovely photos all around!
The pendants that you purchased at the gem show are really cool and the necklaces you created for the teachers are gorgeous! What special gifts!
Lovely necklaces Cindy, that stone is beautiful. Your images are lovely.
It’s been so long since I participated in bead Table Wednesday too, I should more often.
I’m glad you found those focals after we met up, lucky teachers! I have not heard of Sahara jasper either. I have always loved picture jasper – which has the beautiful striations but not those beautiful rich colors. The hike photos are awesome – especially the reverse focus on the bridge! Looks like you had a great weekend.
I’m a sucker for any kind of Jasper, and this new find is gorgeous!!!
Your photos of the cascades are wonderful and I just had to add this to my long list of places I want to visit.
Thanks for sharing, and have a wonderful day!
Absolutley beutiful jasper, and necklaces, too! I went to their website and it is so obvious that their work is also their “play time”! I have not been to Southwestern Virginia in ages, and your pictures are a testament that this State truly is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
That’s really beautiful jasper, Cindy! I’ll have to see if I can find a source for it, I’m a total jasper fanatic. Lucky teachers!
looks like such a wonderful place for a stroll! and that jasper is one I’ve never seen? I’ll have to look for that as it is really pretty!
What beautiful focals you found. Love the necklaces! I would love that trail!!
The Jasper is so pretty! The necklaces look lovely. The Cascades Trail looks like it was a lot of fun and I am sure you and yours enjoyed your time there.
