Happy February and Jack Rabbit (remember that first-of-the-month good luck thing)!

Hope everyone is staying warm and dry today — it’s raining heavily here in Northern Virginia.  If you’re suffering from any winter doldrums, here’s something that will cheer you up: please think about adopting a rabbit from your local animal rescue or otherwise volunteering time, treats or funds to your animal shelter.  February is adopt-a-bunny month!

These little guys are super cute and extremely intelligent.  My sister just adopted a rabbit from the Animal Welfare League of Arlington last week!  His name is Milo Bubbles,(Bubbles was his original name) and he’s settling in nicely to his new home.  Word is that Milo loves carrots and nibbling on Nikki’s hand (and jumping on her head).  So Nikki asked me to put a word out for Milo B. and for bunnies everywhere….if you’re willing to share your home, your time, and maybe a few carrots (OK, a lot of carrots).  Here’s a photo of Milo B., taken while he was still at the Animal Welfare League.  I’m sure we will have updates from Milo in the future…he’s always up to something…..

It’s been almost a year since we lost our 13 year old Netherland Dwarf, dear Babycakes.   A little boy came over to our house today to play and was looking for him still…bunnies can sure warm your heart and stay there.

Have a good weekend!
