Lucky, Lucky

 Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Is the luck of the Irish with you today?  I’m feeling quite lucky…. lucky that the sun is shining and it’s almost 70 degrees here!!  The baby and I had lunch outside by the lake and watched the geese.  I couldn’t ask for more considering it’s still March!

I made this quick wire charm-holder style  necklace with thoughts of good luck.  The pewter Green Girl Studios charm says “Lucky” on the backside…perfect to remind you of all of your good fortunes in life.  I oxidized the  necklace and tumbled it for a nice shine.  Perfect to wear every day, any time of the year.

Did those mischievous leprechauns visit your house?  They sure left their mark here…. knocking over furniture, turning the milk green, and even leaving a pineapple in the trap that the kids left for them.  Maybe they were upset that we didn’t create leprechauns for our craft project as we’ve done in years past.  This year we were a wee bit short on time, so the kids made their own lucky Blarney stones.   Are you familiar with the legend of the Blarney Stone?  It’s quite interesting and you can read about it here.  Now I’m making an Irish Stew and will attempt some Irish Soda bread later.  After all, I’m a McGinnis!

Oh, I have some news for you!  You’ll want to stop back here on Friday…. things are going to get TOTALLY TWISTED.  See you then!

I looove that little necklace…it’s perfect! You aren’t going to believe this , but I have never heard of leprechauns visiting homes and setting traps, until I started seeing it on blogs this year….that is so funny! Growing up polish, slovak, lthiuanian, we never celebrated St Patty’s day too much. I think it’s great your kids get to celebrate that with all of it’s tradition.

Can’t wait till Friday!
Hugs!

Love your charm necklace! And I’m with Sharon – I had no idea leprechauns visited homes… but then, there is no Irish blood in my lineage, as far as I know. Your Blarney stones look very magical!
Have a very lucky day!

I love the necklace…very simple and sweet. Enjoy your stew and soda bread…I am making corned beef/cabbage and may do soda bread as well…plus a Guinness or two!

I am all about being Twisted! Must mean something is afoot with the divine Miss Kerry! I am Irish (in name only) on this day. I didn’t wear green and only ate some spinach on my sandwich for lunch, but I like the luck you bring with the Green Girl piece! Thanks for sharing your blarney with us! Enjoy the day! Erin

What a cute necklace, and it’s the luck o’ the Irish that the wee leprechauns didn’t steal if from ye!

I adore that charm necklace, Cindy!
I was such a slacker for St. Pat’s Day today….2 of 3 kids wore green, and I totally forgot about the leprechaun visit. 😯
I better get back in the game for Easter, though. Lots of cute kid crafts and fun stuff to do! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got going for Friday!

Ah Little Mama,

As your beautiful necklace says you are truly a blessed and lucky girl!! 🙂 Hmmmm I have to say that those are the most beautiful blarney stones this little Italian girl has laid eyes on!!! You say the wee folk make house calls???? Well I’ve never heard such a thing!! But then being Italian…… Here of course St Pat’s day is only a saint’s day. But I did meet a store owner today whose name was also Patricia so we enjoyed a short celebration of our Patron Saint,s day!! 🙂

Love the necklace … but you are such a tease! We have to wait until tomorrow!!! I think your weather up there is warmer than in FL and it looks like it will be turning cold again when we return home. The Weather Witch is not doing her job!

I love your “Lucky” necklace! The chain you used is really interesting too. Hope you had a great St. Patty’s Day!

Hi Sweet Cindy, love the necklace. We all need a little more luck, and why not wear it!! I’m almost reluctant to say, but it was 80 degrees here yesterday in central coast CA! I’m LOVING it! Take care, have a great day, enjoy the beautiful warmth. Riki
