New on the shelf!

Look what’s new on the bookshelf!  The April issue of Bead Trends is out and I’m so proud to be a contributor this month.  It seems like ages ago that I created Joie de Vivre, a pendant featuring a polymer clay focal and a whole lot of steel wire.  The reason I’m particulary excited about this piece?  The polymer clay focal is by none other than my friend Christine Damm of Stories they Tell.  It is so fulfilling to collaborate with a friend.

Speaking of friends, if you pick up this issue you’ll be happy to find many recognizable names.  One special friend who has a couple beautiful pieces in this issue is Sharon of Livewire Jewelry – congrats to all of you!

While out shopping today in my local Barnes and Nobles (had to pick up one more goodie for my husband’s birthday tomorrow!), I was THRILLED to see the brand new publication, Jewelry Affaire  sitting right there on the shelf!  This long-awaited premiere issue is jam-packed with beautiful designs and I’m enjoying perusing it page by page.  I was excited to see articles by my friends Valerie Rosenthal Hebert and Diane Cook – as well as many designers whose work I can’t wait to discover.  The photography is excellent…just what we’ve come to expect from the many inspiring Stampington publications!

your piece is so pretty – i love oranges, pinks and grey… the focal is beautiful…and you are always so generous and joyful in giving people recognition –

Susan March 30, 2010 at 10:07 am

One can never have too many jewelry design mags and books! Your necklace reminds me of a sunset with those marvelous shades of orange. It must be a wonderful experience to see your work in a magazine! If I am not mistaken, I also recognize the artist of the dragonfly bead on the cover of bead trends. I think that is a bead by Kerri Fuhr. I have bought some of her work before and she is amazing! (Expensive…but worth it!)

Shannon March 30, 2010 at 10:09 am

I haven’t seen either of these publications yet. Your necklace is wonderful!

Lyn Foley March 30, 2010 at 11:01 am

Thanks for letting us know about the two magazines – and you are to be congratulated for being featured in another issue!! I’m going to look for both of thoses mag next time I’m in the big city.

Oh Yay-another Stampington magazine! I’m going to Barnes and Noble ASAP! I’m going to have to take out a second mortgage on my house for all the Somerset/Stampington publications I am now addicted to!
