Happy Halloween 2008!

Happy Halloween to all of you ghosts and goblins out there!  I know it’s late in the afternoon, but I’m happy to be able to finally post something short and sweet here.  I was having USB-port connection problems, but luckily it was fixed in the nick of time.

I wanted to share a few pictures before the older kids come home and we’re in the made rush to eat dinner and change in to our costumes.  I may have mentioned before that there are just a few times a year that I like to create holiday-themed jewelry…Halloween is definitely one of them.  The potential for creative/amazing/adorable lampwork beads is incredible.  Here is a long necklace with tons of handmade lampwork beads and sterling silver.  I wanted this to be a piece that could be easily worn over a sweater and even in lieu of a costume.  A real holiday keepsake.  I had so much fun I made two!  The lampwork beads are by Snozberry beads and the rest were a gift from Marilyn of Novelty Beads.

Here is a close up of the detail.  Just look at the witch that Marilyn created…a long, pointy nose and individual strands of hair.  And look at that worried-looking Frankenstein complete with stitches.  These ladies are very talented with hot glass.

Today I attended my 4 year-old’s school Halloween Party.  Here is a picture from their parade.  Remember when I was worried about finding a Bunny costume in a size 4?  Well that very week I found one at Marshall’s of all places.  He loves this costume!  Now he can be the pirate bunny that he always wanted to be.

And up next….. the cutest little pumpkin of all.  Here is my new little guy celebrating his very first Halloween.  Just 19 days old.  I couldn’t resist dolling him up for a photo shoot. 🙂

‘Til next time….. now let’s go out there and get some candy!
