Color Palette Blog Walk {….Joy}

by Cindy on October 21, 2011

Today is Color Palette Blog Walk, the 3rd Round!  Brandi over  at Brandi Girl Blog is the originator of this fun color-inspired hop around blogland.  The premise is to take one of your own photos, and translate them in to color palettes. Brandi is well-known for her photography and her gorgeous color palettes, which she frequently shares on her blog. Talk about popping-off-the-page incredible pictures!

Templates and other digital layouts for blog enhancement can be found in Brandi’s Freshly Hued shop.  Brandi is extremely generous with information, so you’ll want to visit her blog frequently to learn more about topics such as digital photography, and marketing your online business!

Brandi chose JOY for the theme of the Round 3 Blog Walk.  What is the color of our joy?   I take so many pictures, I merely looked through my galleries and found a few that immediately brought a smile to my face. 🙂

Was this choice too easy?  I mean, who doesn’t feel an immediate sense of joy when faced with a warm brownie covered in chocolate and caramel syrup?  This was a shot taken on my son’s 9th birthday.

Now on the other end of the color spectrum – bright and full of energy!   Oh the joy of letting loose in the sprinkler on field day.

There’s just something about picking out a pumpkin.  This one was taken from our visit to the pumpkin playground over the weekend.  While we’re on the subject of pumpkins…pumpkin pie brings me great joy.

I saved my favorite for last.  Joy is having a little hand to hold.   When my youngest son emerges from the doors of his preschool, he proudly shows me the latest sticker he earned.   He knows how to find joy in the little things, and on that day, it was the bumble bee sticker.

Oh, Cindy! I relate so much to each of these palettes. How can you not find the joy in dessert? The yummy goodness is making me a little hungry, truth be told!

But #2 and #4 are the ones I can’t take my eyes off of. The joy of running through the sprinkler is infectious! It’s like I can hear the laughter right now…

And #4 is so incredibly precious. I went “awww” when I saw it. Is he oh so proud when he shows you his newest sticker? I love it, because it reminds me of the trust that comes from a little hand holding yours.

Thanks for the super kind words, my friend, and for taking the time to participate!

Oh, what delightful stories these photos (and colors) tell!

My favorite is the first one! It’s 8:30 am and now you’ve got me wanting ice cream! Beautiful palettes.

Cindy,
I love that each of your palettes that brings you joy has at least one very strong color in it. And the story that goes behind each is delightful! Thank you for sharing such beautiful things!

Oh Miss Cindy! I love the way you see the world. I don’t capture nearly enough with my camera that isn’t jewelry related. That sprinkler shot is dynamic and action packed! I can feel the excitement. And that pumpkin is a quite joy. So cheery. But that little hand with the bee sticker is too precious! Thank you for sharing! Enjoy the day!

My fave is also the water-splashing, joyful-kids, summer-colors one! That pictures makes me feel so joyful!!! The hot fudge brownie sundae makes me hungry and greedy! HA! Love your photos all the way around, Cindy!

Fabulous palettes and the sentiments behind them. I can totally relate to the brownie sundae! And the boys on the slide is so joyous–both in the use of color and the subject matter. And we should all find such joy in a bumble bee sticker.

What an incredible meme! So very inventive and creative 🙂

I think the pictures you chose are all gorgeous, and instill different levels of joy-Although I must say, I’m particularly drawn to the first one 😉

I love the joy in all your palettes..each one capturing such a lovely moment.
My favourite colors are 2 and 3.. The second so bright and happy and I love the dash of purple and the 3 rd one is appealing to me because for some reason I am mad about grey at the moment! I do love those little hands…it’s been a long time since I held one so small.

Each of these photos captures such a moment of delight and wonder. I love the bold colors in the water slide picture. I can almost hear the sound of the children’s laughter. The last picture is moving and tender. So sweet!

Lovely color palette’s, I had a friend over for lunch today and we indulged in a brownie with peanut butter icing, absolutely delicious. Love the little bumblebee sticker and tiny hand we have to cherish those special moments and be reminded how small things can bring us great joy!

NO FAIR with that dessert! Delicious! And I wish I had thought to make such varying color palettes. You have such an eye for things and your photos are amazing. LOVE these.

Yes, you really have a photographer’s eye, Cindy! Are you printing multiples of the family photos and keeping a photo album for each one of the boys? Or will it all be in video form? Whatever you do, you have absolute gems and treasures there, that is a great joy in itself! You truly captured the meaning of joy in our lives and colors are an essential part of the whole emotion. Thank you for this gift!
