What glorious weather we had yesterday! It sure felt like Spring in January. We just had to get out and enjoy the day…and this time we took a tiny drive over to another favorite backyard locale. Old Town, Alexandria is a super quaint town just south of Washington, DC. George Washington was responsible for the layout of the town’s streets. There are many historical landmarks to see when strolling through the picturesque streets: Robert E. Lee’s boyhood home, Gadsby’s tavern, the Torpedo Factory (now home to many artists), and Market Square to name a few. Good thing I brought my camera because there was beauty in the variety of doors to the shops that line the streets.

If you ever visit the state of Virginia, you won’t want to miss this beautiful port town.
Have a great week, everyone!

That little pup looks just like my schnauzer Madison (RIP-good dog!).
I have heard about the Torpedo Factory. That sounds like an amazing place! Those boys having fun are such a delight to see. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the day! Erin
Such a lovely place…Have a wonderful day!!Cat
What a quaint and beautiful area! I can’t wait to visit all the beautiful historic towns once we settled in TN. It looks like it’s going to be quite an adventure.
I LOVE Alexandria! Went there a bunch. The Torpedo Factory was sort of just under renovation and not really up and rolling. I think there was some artist space in there. I remember a really awesome Thai restaurant where I had hot and sour soup for the first time. So fun to just stroll around! Lucky you!
One of my favorite spots in the DC area!
Wonderful photos. I especailly like all of the doorways. And of course your boys always look like such a happy lot.

Kisses to your boys.
I LOVE Alexandria! Did you get to the glass bead place????
These pictures are so clear, colorful pictures. You work magic with that camera, Cindy! I’d love to live in a quant town like Old Town.
Hi Cindy,
Great photos..Old Town and the Torpedo Factory are favorites though I haven’t been there in years. Your boys are so adorable…I have two boys ages 8 and 10 and my oldest one had those same sweet chubby cheeks when he was a baby..ahhh such memories!
Love your beautiful beadwork! Don’t know how you fit it all in with four boys!!
As usual, your wonderful photos always make me smile! Love the pics of the doors! Did you know, one of your shots (the star and the circle) camouflage earthquake rods that they put in the building walls for stabilization? I saw those in Charleston, SC too and wondered why there were stars on the wall– they are decorative caps for the reinforcement. Looks like my favorite kinda place to explore.
